CrazyGilbert
I was interested in this game and I asked my uncle about it (he seems to know lots about video games and jsut about everything0 so i asked him about this game and he said that he knew people who had played so much they lost there home, there cars, there jobs everything because of some stupid game I guess some people are different than others but if I started palying I would be likely to get super hooked cause morrowind did that to me and that was only a one payed event while on the other hand EQ costs 15$ a month. Abramul
So set it up so the .EXE will only run between certain times, if you show some control, no problemo, amigo. *sheesh*
Adras
Well that just goes to show that weak-minded people are... weak ^_^ I wouldnt mind if he played besides the fact that hes screwing him self up (he and I are only in 10th grade) by staying up till 5 am and getting up at 1 pm. Thats not good because during school, he has to go to bed around 11 and get up around 6. Definatly not good. I dont think that I could ever get addicted to anything like EverQuest because first of all, if I play something for more than an hour or two,I get bored. Second of all, I dont have the time because I could only play it two or three times a week. Anyways, I'm glad to hear that some of you arent 'addicted' to the point that you forget to do stuff that you need to. =o) My little after-rant rant. And I'm willing to bet large sums of money that most these "hardcorde addiction cases" are either false or one-in-a-million cases. Osiris
And I'm willing to bet large sums of money that most these "hardcorde addiction cases" are either false or one-in-a-million cases. [With no offense to anyone.] Large sums you say? If you've ever played a decent MMO for a somewhat long time I think you might be saying differently. You'll start to notice the same people are on before you log in and are still on after you log off, even if you play 12 some odd hours straight. Or maybe you'll find that you are those people. One way to tell is if you play 12 hours straight. :D Anyone whos plays an MMO and has gotten to a significant level has somesort of addiction to it. I'd say about 1/3 of those are hardcore and 1/10 of those are like that Korean kid Dark0ne mentioned. But if you go so far as to get fired from your job over it you deserve it. Slaiv
you've ever played a decent MMO for a somewhat long time...Which I have. World of Warcraft, Dark Age of Camelot, and [of course :P ] Runescape. I have invested many hours, but I can't see many people being stupid enough to forget to eat. Dark0ne
World of Warcraft After I pay Peregrine and Marxist to rip this atrosity apart on these forums I'm going to officially add it to the unmetionatables list. I'd rather save my $15 a month until such a time I can go to Disney Land with said saved money - rather than exploring Disney Land and Florida in virtual reality. *spits*

I'd rather save my $15 a month until such a time I can go to Disney Land with said saved money - rather than exploring Disney Land and Florida in virtual reality. *spits* Well, do that, if you must. But first, answer me please the following question: Why do you think so bad of WoWC? I've compared EQ2 and WoWC reviews and they all praise WoWC into high heavens while they just state that EQ2 is a decent game, nothing more. I didn't play any of both games, but I want to (one of them at least). But before I choose and want to collect some "expert" oppinions on what to choose. Just take Gamespot: WoWC = 9.5 EQ2 = 7.
Dark0ne
For quite a balanced opinion on Gamespot's ratings, go to http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/boa...scending&page=1 As many comment, Gamespot reduced EQ2's score drastically due to its lack of PvP content - which has never been a feature of EQ. Sorta like rating GTA on its lack of multiplayer capabilities..something GTA has never had. I would argue..but really can't be bothered..done too much of it over the last month. I will however vouch for EQ2's far superior graphics. Graphics aren't everything, especially in an MMO. But when you're spending an hour of your day running around mining rocks, gathering roots and picking up gems for your next set of uber-l337 platmail armour - you definately want something good to look at. Compare... Darnoc
Thanks for the info. I think I just converted to EQ2 :D . But I probably still wait until the German reviews come out, especially the one of Gamestar, I had good experiences with this magazine. It's probably just because I'm over-cautious these days. Like the German proverb says: "Vorsicht ist besser als Nachsicht."
