Trouble modding different Sections of Cyrodiil..

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am brand new to modding. (Started today)

As such, I'm having trouble figuring out the different sections of land in the world.
When I'm in the CS, I really don't know how to bring up a section/area of land to work on.

Example : Where the road splits after passing Weye. I'd like to put a house there, but I don't

know how to bring up that part of land in the CS. And that goes for most areas outside of the obvious ones.
I don't know what I'm looking for & just winging it. (Not helping)

Info on how to find/use different areas would be a big help.
Thanks guys.

In your situation it's a good idea to find the EditorID of the exterior cell you want to edit. Cells can either be interior or exterior. Exterior cells are sections of land in the outside world, while Interior cells are inside areas such as dungeons or houses. An EditorID is the name of an object in the Construction Set.

In cases like this, the UESP Wiki is your friend. It's sort of like Wikipedia for the Elder Scrolls. Here's the UESP page for Weye. On the right side of the page there's a window with a section called "Console Location Code(s)". It contains that exterior cell's EditorID.

Now open up the Construction Set. In the Cell View window there's a drop-down list called "World Space". From the list, choose Tamriel. Tamriel is the entire outside game world in Oblivion. It will take some time to load, as the game is now loading all the exterior cells in Cyrodiil. When it's finished loading, you'll see a list below of all the exterior cells. Remember the EditorID we saw on the UESP page? Click on the exterior cell list and type "Weye". The list will drop down to any cells that start with "Weye". You should see a cell called WeyeExterior highlighted in the list, just like the EditorID we saw on UESP.

Double click on WeyeExterior and the game will take you to that exterior cell. Now you should see a top-down view of Weye in the Render Window. (If it's too dark, press A and it will light up.) And now you can just follow the road a little bit up to see where it splits!

After you've placed the house you should start thinking about pathgridding, but first things first. And if you run into trouble, you can try the Elder Scrolls Construction Set Wiki. It's a bit outdated but it certainly helps!

I guess that is the same problem for us all. When I want to open a region in the world, well Tamriel, I start in a local cell i know of in that area and double click the door marker to get out and when I got out, I hit the T-Button, to get above the door I just "ported" too and Zooom out.

To move around and object, click it and hold down the shift. Lets start in the Internal Cell Weye... With CSE, we can filter every damn window which you cannot do in CS... The background colors is a theme in CSE as well.

Find the Internal Cell Weye and doubleclick it.

Look how the cell type changes from Internal to Tamriel as well or rather "World Space". This is the fastest way I know off. If we know where a specific object is located, we can use it, but rightclicking it in the object window and click use info in the pop up, and double click the info we get and get there.
