SvalinnAsgard
I really do not like sharing the same exact look with NPCs. Is there a way to specify a custom body and armor meshes to be used ONLY by the player?
LadyMilla
There is a mod called Unique Character, you might want to give it a try.
SvalinnAsgard
Thanks for the reply. It appears that mod only alters the body, and does so by using a custom race (which has a whole host of problems from what I read). I would gladly do it myself, but I have no idea if it is even possible.
myztikrice
Yes, they're called standalone armors.
tonnie
As myztikrice said above, standalone armors are what youre looking for.standalone armors are usually only obtainable through crafting, which means only you, the player can use it. Unless you give it to a follower or something. try to search for armors on the nexus, most of them are replacers (they replace the vanilla skyrim meshes and textures, this means its irreversible). but some also come with a standalone version
SvalinnAsgard
Ah you are right, standalone armor will work perfectly. It just wont appear as loot like regular armor will. Ideally, if possible, there would be a script to swap out the armor to the custom player version when found. Also, I do not suppose there is a way around the custom race? Really appreciate the replies so far, very helpful.
IsharaMeradin
Here is your way around the custom racehttp://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/44938 Allows you to setup a custom body for the player and one body for all the NPCs. You still have to use one face mod for both player and NPCs due to the nature of how heads are set up.
evenstargw
What I did for the AmidianBorn vanilla armor retextures:1 Put the textures in a separate folder.2 Make textureset entries for them in the creation kit3 Create duplicate armors for the vanilla armors, and apply the textureset to them4 Make crafting recipes, which give you the retextured armors in exchange for a vanilla one5 Don't forget to add temper recipes for them as well So, now I can use the incredible armor textures without frying my poor old PC. All NPC's just wear vanilla. Downside is, I won't find any with enchantments on them, so I always have to enchant my own, but that's a tradeoff I'm willing to make (until I finally get a PC that can handle everything I throw at it).
