Foina
@ OP: The first Black & White game (from Lionhead Studios) had the Sun rise from the East, reach the Zenith, then set back to the East.It was dutifully pointed out on the official forums -months after the game release- but did anybody care? At best we got the occasional lol-it's-true comment. And the game developers? They kept in touch with the community, posting in various threads, minus that one, and two official patches later the embarassing feature was still there - untouched. Bottom line: enjoy the game : ) and don't let a minor detail ruin your fun.
spanian77
@ all Guys..you are missing the point..imagination makes modders to make their mods, one guy likes something..tries to make it and maybe he does maybe he doesn't. Sometimes great mods came from users ideas..you all know that! In another -OLD- thread I asked if it's possible to make clouds have shadows in Skyrim, guess what, latest ENB by Boris does this thing! So,maybe"Shadeybladey" prefer to play more inside interior cells so he will enjoy more a mod like he said,on/off lights automatiacally when NPC(s) is present in that room and go to bed ,I prefer to travel ad play outdoors so the realistic shadows from moon(like from sun in daytime) is more important... Shadeybladey
Not at all. My first character was a Nord Druidic Rune Witch (there she is in my avatar, operating as a Ranger because she maxed her class skills). She wandered the wilderness for 460 hours, no fast travelling, avoiding towns and building campsites with Pocket Campsite and then Pocket Empire Builder and got to level 64 before patch 1.9 screwed her up. She had 15 followers based at her main stockade and went out with two or three of them at a time while the rest of them relaxed chopping wood or smithing stuff. As I say, I never noticed any problem with the Moon shadows. And she has spells called Starlight, Moonlight and Sunlight which affect Undead, so she was often out and about at night. I would have no idea how to "fix" the moon shadows, anyway. but as my latest character is a Dunmer Nightblade, I'd prefer the interiors to be darker at night when she burgles shops etc. And I have enough imagination of my own, thank you very much. And I wonder how much actual impact your OLD question in an OLD thread had on one of the latest ENBs. ~.~
spanian77
So,you disagree about users givin' ideas to modders, modders have their own imagination and that's all..ok,if this is an openminded type for you then good luck with your imagination and your mods. I have to say this,if I remember correctly untill now everyone may post anything he likes to share,to say no matter if some other agree, find it worthless or not so important..that's why a good poster replies to the subject that the OP gave, not "I know this" , "I know that" , "I".."I".." I " . You are the only modder on the world? Did I wrote about YOUR imagination and only your's so you be so sarcastic about it?Your opinion and what's best and/or better is different to everyone so here is an advise, don't be so aggressive,if you don't have something to share that is related to my first post then move on and stay there. this is the only sentense that you have something to say about it... ...I would have no idea how to "fix" the moon shadows, anyway. but as my latest character is a Dunmer Nightblade, I'd prefer the interiors to be darker at night when she burgles shops etc.... Shadeybladey
this is the only sentense that you have something to say about it... That's "sentence". You don't have anything to say at all. As I told you, this is the wrong forum. You should re-post your OP in the Mod Requests forum. You've had your replies. Most people never noticed the shadows, some DO notice them now but only because you brought their attention to it, and no body knows about any such mod, nor do they know how to make it, nor are they in any way interested in making one. You might get a response more to your liking in the Mod requests forum. But I doubt it. I think you'll get no response at all, but be my guest. ~.~
Mookeylama
well, not to get anyone riled up, and i respect both your opinions as i've seen ya both around for quite awhile. and Shadey answers my questions quite often (Hiya Shadey!).but i noticed the shadow thing ages ago, well before this topic was made. it's very noticeable at Darkwater Crossing at night. stand around the campfire there and the shadows are all kinds of conflicting (i imagine ELFX exteriors may contribute). but basically npc and tree shadows are going opposite the moon and night sky light sources. after i saw it there i noticed it a lot lol unfortunately making topics in Requests doesn't always lead to anything. just look at my thread about changing hammer and axes positions on the back. 7-8 pages of talk and little done.but this shadows topic may've been better served posted in Mod Talk rather than General. hell i dunno
Shadeybladey
Well, he posted and no one replied, so a week later he makes a snippy comment, so I was just trying to explain why there's no mod to fix that already. Then he starts having a go at me! Some people think mod makers wave a magick wand. But however clever they are, they still have to do a huge amount of work. Terra Nova
There were so many things I wanted to implement in the game. Some of which has already been implemented by someone else. Others, I haven't done because it's beyond my skill. I think it's possible. Beth was probably being lazy and just used the "sun properties" for shadow casting. spanian77
Many things (mods) we could never thought that they were possible, however many skilled modders show us with great mods or even "small" ones this : Skyrim's engine is very sensitive and has limits BUT without trying something you can not say "it's not possible" and surely you can not say that if your don't like something(or doesn't really bother you) doesn't worth even a try. I am not skilled and yet I've tried to check on which conditions sun makes shadows with no luck. Maybe few skilled modders tried and failed, some because this is beyond their skills, other because maybe they do know that it's impossible, who knows. The fact is that it would be awesome, not only for me but for everyone who play this game. Some people think mod makers wave a magick wand. But however clever they are, they still have to do a huge amount of work. I never said that I don't respect modders and their work, small or huge.I too believe that some people think that and I've seen many posts asking/requesting "crazy stuff" but I am not one of them...
