wghost81
I did a quick ran-through with new EU "patch": main UPK files are totally different from patch 4, so I decided to try and find any changes in actual game. So far I haven't found anything. AI is the same, it still skips turns. All flanking bugs are in their usual places (I think it's a map design issue, so I wasn't really expecting any changes here). And aliens still teleport around: I've got one "soft teleport" bug and since Battle Scanner still marks them forever (wasn't fixed too) I was able to see patrols teleporting around the map. No bugfixes?!? C'mon, Firaxis, it's no way to support your products! And what exactly this 4Gb "patch" does, if it isn't fixing anything? Krazyguy75
Must be a compatibility patch to make the base game more compatible with EW. On an unrelated note, DCG.ini now carries item loadouts for characters, it seems.
Anbar
direct editing of the XcomGame.int in the XEW tree works fine... i take it that texmod directed at the XEW tree .exe will work fine...?
Anbar
they've reduced filesizes of many maps, streamlined them internally, hence faster loading times.
Drakous79
If has XCOM EW SHA hash checks removed, what about XCOM EU? Are checks still there or were they removed too? Waiting for European release :(

EU seems to be the same unfortunately yes, but a report from EW at least suggests the OW flank lockdown bug is fixed: http://forums.2kgames.com/showthread.php?278776-Flanked-Overwatch-Freeze-Alien-don-t-work-anymore
Hammerstein2k11
I don't know if this will help anyone but I updated the XCOMModHelper to support XCOM Enemy Within: https://github.com/fperks/xcom-mod-helper For Enemy Within the only thing it is setup to do is to patch XCOMEW.exe to make it so it reads DefaultGameCore.ini from XEW/XCOMGame/Config folder without needing Modpatcher. It makes a single modification to the executable, and then any changes done to DGC will show up, without needing modpatcher. Binaries: https://github.com/fperks/xcom-mod-helper/releases/tag/v0.2Code: https://github.com/fperks/xcom-mod-helperDocumentation: https://github.com/fperks/xcom-mod-helper I tried this method , thanks for the suggestions , makes life easier to mod the files but after running the helper when I try and launch the game is get the same error as before "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)" I dont know if anyone else has tried and is receiving the same error Are you from the EU ? Cause I have the same issue. I have the game preordered and it will unlock on friday, but since I couldn't wait I'm playing an "alternative" version in the meantime. So maybe the cracked .exe does not like the compiler or something. Will try again on friday. Edited November 13, 2013 by Hammerstein2k11

I tried a saved game and then i started a new game and both the same results. All i do is change the cost of the satellite to 1 and then go try to buy and its still 100. Krazyguy75
Wait, did you make any changes to the ini? Cause the tool you mentioned only loads the ini, but does not change anything.
