What about mods and GoG 1.6.659 ?

I hope someone knows these things.

Using MO2 I've had no luck at all installing mods on 1.6.659 (current Gog version).

I did get SKSE installed, and probably working, but it is a special version for the GoG release.

Is a special GoG version of each mod needed to work on the GoG release?

Do we set back and wait for all the mods to be updated for GoG?

If so most should, but I'm afraid some very good mods, (mostly older ones still working)

may never get that update.

I've been away from Skyrim, and NEXUS for quite a while and need to get current.

Would appreciate any enlightenment on this matter.

Thanks in advance.

So long as what you're trying to install doesn't require a 3rd party SKSE extension (usually in the form of a DLL file) you should have no trouble installing anything for SE.

Some dll mods have been updated to be GOG compatible: Address Library, Papyrus Extender are a few. PapyrusUtils is not updated. Even mods that use the Address Library will need updating at least once from 1.6.353.

None of the mods I use that are not SKSE have failed, though I don't have a very large load order.

I want to thank you guys that responded to my original post, your replies and suggestions got me back on track and

SAE GOG is now running, and modding, as expected.

Yes, most mods now install just fine.

I found it to be as you said.

Yeah, that site has lots of useful info.

No, I hadn't installed the updated GOG version of game_skyrimse.dll for MO2,

and that was certainly one of my main problems.

Thanks again,
