mwk34
Quick questions for anyone who can answer: One, I tried enchanting a shield and sword and things are not working out the way I wanted. What am I to put in the options for touch, use, target, etc... I wanted my shield when someone where to hit me it would shock them if blocked and wanted to add frost and poison damage to my sword when hitting someone??? If anyone can help would be great, very expensive mistakes. Also, if anyone knows, where do you sell the expensive swords and armour you get or find? All the shops I've seen only have gold up to 800 and one I've seen at 2000? Thanks for any assistance, great game and lots of fun. Is Tribunal worth getting? Pob
Okay lots of stuff here. Will try and cover it in one post. First off check the forum in detail there is loads of stuff on enchanting and other stuff. **POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT** All the shops I've seen only have gold up to 800 and one I've seen at 2000? Thanks for any assistance, great game and lots of fun. Is Tribunal worth getting? Yes it is. Adds loads to the game and I love it. Also gives merchants with more money. In MW itself there is the mudcrab (on islands east of Vivec) and creeper in Caldera (in the house with the orcs in at the top) One, I tried enchanting a shield and sword and things are not working out the way I wanted. What am I to put in the options for touch, use, target, etc... I wanted my shield when someone where to hit me it would shock them if blocked and wanted to add frost and poison damage to my sword when hitting someone??? Not ever tried putting damage on a sheild so not sure how it works. Basic enchanting rules: The better the soul (the more expensive it is) the more charges it will contain and the longer your item will work before recharging. Enchanting skill also influence how many charges are used per use (higher skill, less charges per use) When you bring up the enchanting box it shows the effect whe you click on effect it brings up a sepreate box. Here you can adjust the magnitue, area and duration. You can also change the tareget (touch, self, area etc -touch is default I think) This gives you you effect(s) Then you need to look in the bottom left and click on the button there. This allows you to set casting options. They range from constant effect (only with ceratin soul gems), cast when use etc. For weapons you want cast when strikes as you target and target as the target (or touch can't remebr which one) Not sure if you will be able to do the shelid thing (but sounds cool). Maybe check out the mods to see if anyhthing there Be interested to see if you get the shelid to work lol
ThetaOrionis01
Ok, first of all, unless your enchant skill is very high, don't bother trying to enchant things youself - pay an enchanter to do it. You have to have a spell with the effect you want in your magic menu, a suitable filed soulgem, and an object capable of holding the enchantment. Types of enchantment: cast when used - this enchantment has to be cast like a spell, ie you have to select it from your list of magic items rather than equipping it, then cast the enchantment cast when strikes - this is probably what you're looking for for your sword - the enchantment happens when you hit something with a weapon. constant effect - you need to have a golden saint or ascended sleeper soul for that Not sure what the best type of enchantment would be for the shield. If you want to sell items, the Creeper in Caldera has 5000 gold, and the Mudcrab Merchant 10000 However....if you barter with the enchanter first - sell them a scroll or a ring or something, then pay for the enchantment, then what you've paid for the enchantment will be added to his/her available gold. JeC
I put Restore Health, Water breathing, and summon Ansectoral ghost all on a shield and its all constant efect. I wish would have put sumthin else on it besides the ghost likee summon skeleton cause he is weak. And unless u want a pink shield do not put water breathing first! Darmoth
I think he means the horrible glowing effect on the items... there's a mod around here somewhere called NoGlow, which removes the glowing effects from enchanted items, which in my opinion makes the game look better.
