Malchik
Even without cheats you can use guild guides etc., proplyon indices, mark and recall, divine and almsivi intervention, scrolls of icarian flight with slowfall, the boots of blinding speed, fortify speed on armour, rings and clothes plus levitate. It does take more time to get to these situations but fast travel was there even on xbox with a bit of imagination. As a secondary point, does the fast travel option work for you alone or for any companions/followers as well. For existing Morrowind some options did permit you to take those you were escorting - boats, silt striders and IIRC guild guides. The mark/recall, interventions and propylon indices did not. Some unified approach would be useful. Those escort quests are among the most boring in the game IMO because there are so many!

Twitchmonkey
I like the idea of more fast travel, exploration in Morrowind was fun but a lot of the time it just got tedious fighting rat after rat. And then having to spend 3 hours trying to find the Urshilaku Burial Caverns with the strategy guide.
Dark0ne
And then having to spend 3 hours trying to find the Urshilaku Burial Caverns with the strategy guide. Are you kidding me? I just did that quest an hour ago (literally, no joke) and I found it straight away, 5 minutes. The directions were pretty clear.

But I'm sure your problem would have been handled by the new dynamic compass they're putting in.... *shudders*
Luthiel_Dragonsoul
holy hell im not sure about any else but i play RPG's for the ROLE PLAYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for the realism, i like to play so that i can escape, my endless hours of work, the inesscant chattering of my girlfriend, i play for the realism, if this fast travel system actually is in oblivion i will ignore it with religious fervor, i want realism, i meen jobs, hunger, aging, and the such, this totally makes oblivion very far from the REALISTIC RPG'S that super hardcore fans are looking for yours sincerelyLuthiel Dragonsoul

Argoren
Fast travel is a nice option to have. You get a little bit lazy, of course and you will more likely overlook some things you have only noticed after you passed umpteenth. But it’s really getting slightly boring to run the same loooong way again and again, just because some of the quests send you there again and again and again… or you forgot some tiny detail at the other end of the world… some of the streets in Vvardenfell I knew almost better than my way home – a wee bit worrying?! No, fast travel is fine with me. If you don’t like it – don’t use it. Twitchmonkey, you’re definately not the only one searching for that *@#* cavern for hours. Must have been afflicted with blindness, ‘cause when I finally found it, it was just around the corner. Had a bad day I guess, or shall I say …week..?
