Shrapnel
So, curious problem. After finishing the Outcast and Remnants Main questline I saved my couple hundreds hours long playthrough inside the BoG bunker and closed the game.During the following day I was in the mood to try out a couple of mods to change the appearance of a few NPCs, the "Synthetic Overhaul" line of mods to be exact. Those for Danse, Old Longfellow, the BoS characters on the Prydwen, Preston and MacCready. That meant installing all of the required mods for them as well. To do that I had to take out a couple of weapon mods, mostly mods by Pig, his Assault Weapons pack, the one with the anti material rifle, the heavy weapons combo deal (jury rigged tesla cannon and plasma caster) and I had to disable another overhaul for Elder Maxson, since two overhauls probably wouldn't work.Installed them, cleaned up the load order, made a new bashed patch, started the game. Tried to load the save and the game tells me "Mods are currently loaded. Achievements will be disabled", even though I've been playing with mods the whole time. And then the game CTDs after loading. Or during loading, I'm unsure, since I don't see the actual game. Loading screen for a couple of minutes -> CTD.Even after uninstalling the character overhauls and the required mods again and restoring my old load order it does that.Anyone any idea what I f***ed up? Edit.: So, after deleting all of the .ini files and validating the game files via steam, I've managed to at least get to see the game proper again. So the savegame loads, but it still CTDs after about 3 seconds. Yay, progress >_>

Yay, progress >_>Heyas Shrapnel!Ugh, really sorry to hear about the problems that you're having. :sad:I highlighted what I think is the problem, in the quote.Too much change to your LO :sad:Your load order assigns the FormID number to entries made by the mod. Those formID's get baked into your save games.Changing a lot of those FormIDs, especially En Masse... can eff up a save real, real fast. :sad:If you have a backup of your LO from before that, use it. And delete the saves that you made after doing the change. Or in your case, the savegame that you have been trying to load up.If you don't have a back up of that... then test the current load order, on an all new character, and see if game still hangs/crashes. Either of those methods will tell you whether or not the changes made to your LO were too much for the save data to handle due to the FormID changes. Edit: PS- if you're not keeping a backup of your load order (the file varies, depending on what mod manager you're using, or doing it manually) now would definitely be a good time to start doing so
StormWolf01
Another thing to consider is to take care when removing the mods. Make sure that if any of them have an in-game utility or uninstaller, to do that.If you have any items or whatnot installed by a mod that you're going to remove, make sure to get rid of them, and save after removing them. Save after removing the items, I mean.
Shrapnel
I'll try what you sugested. I'm keeping a couple of saves, always, since I nuked my game the last time (also a multiple hundred hours save. that time I didn't change any mods though, just stopped working).I already changed my load order back to the way it was before I tried those character overhauls though and I didn't have any of those weapons I removed in my inventory anywhere, since I don't use them and just had them for RP purposes in my game. Edit:Also, running FallRimTools over one of the saves it told me there are no rullrefs in the Formlists.
Shrapnel
It must have something to with the fact, that the game suddenly informs me about using mods, even though the mods were installed from the beginning. Somehow Fallout thinks that's something new and now it's not allowing me to load ANY save, not even the ones HOURS before I tried the character overhauls.I tried starting a new game and in that instance it froze upon loading the wasteland for the first time. StormWolf01
Ugh :(I'm glad to hear that you're keeping backups, at least. But really not glad to hear that even on a new char, that it's still crashing. :( Ok Shrapnel. When I had this problem from a borked LO. This is what I finally did to get rid of the crashes when it happened to me. I had to pull every single one of my save games out, after restoring my load order from a previous backup. (My stupid butt decided to rearrange all the mods by category ((Which I'd already done)) and then rearrange the mods in those categories alphabetically). Took me 2 months to figure out how I effed up, then this solution made me research it a lot more. Once my Saved Games folder was empty, and I tried on a new char, then it's run fine since. I'm also going to ask... how are you starting the game? Are you using f4se and script mods?
showler
Profiles. When testing new mods use a new profile. Don't pollute your active game profile.
showler
Also, did you try the option to go to a save game and tell your mod manager to restore the mods it depends on?
Shrapnel
Also, did you try the option to go to a save game and tell your mod manager to restore the mods it depends on?I did, yes. I'm also going to ask... how are you starting the game? Are you using f4se and script mods?I do yes. The problem is academical, now, by the way. I decided to just suck it up and accept that I f*#@ed a very nice and fun playthrough up (again) and delete every mod (one by one and by hand), uninstalled the game, deleted the game folder (it was already gone), deleted the saves, reinstalled the game, reinstalled all mods, and now, when I'm healed, emotionally, I'll begin anew ^^ Thanks for the suggestions and your time. This time I won't change my load order at all, no new mods mid playthrough and I'll keep even more backups.
