How few mods can you run?

I am been heavily modding skyrim for a year now. So much that Ive gone completely retro and started a new game with as few mods as possible.

If you wanted to only run a couple of mods, which ones would you choose? You dont have to meantion the unofficial update patches.

So far except for the main esms and dlcs and unofficial patches I am running:

K ENG Living Lights <-- Best ENB

SkyUI

Remodeled Armor <--- A must for me.

ApachiiSkyhair

Caliente Body Mod Big Bottom Edition

Morrowloot

This is it for me now. I need to have at least a good looking character so I need some skimpy armor and a nice bodymod with lovely hair. And I also need the morrowloot because the most annoying thing about skyrim is that at level 10 you can kill a dude in full orcish armor and make half the stuff that drops in the game suddenly useless.

Ive completed everything in riverwood at the moment and so far its not as bad as expected.

Funny what we consider "Vanilla". No major character creation or perk overhauls?

Apart from the UPs, SkyUI, CFM and Atlas are always essential, of course. And the non-esp map mods. And Arthmoors AI and plot fix mods. Etc.

Ah! It's interesting to see that there are others who are intrigued by a less-is-more approach.

Over the years, I went deep into RPG mod sites, downloading and trying many mods for most of my RPGs. I still browse a lot, out of curiosity and I'm still amazed by the volume and quality! There's something for almost everyone.

Anyway, I have found myself wanting less mods in my game. Stability's not the issue, BOSS has helped me tremendously. I just like playing Skyrim as close to vanilla as possible. I do have some bug-fix mods but I do not actually have the USP.

I used to like body and face replacers but I find them too distracting and "pretty." They kind of ruin the game for me now. They are quite impressive though. Clearly, a lot of talent goes into them.

My list:

Realistic Humanoid Movement Speed

Bugfix - Critical Charge with swords

Stagger Fix

Weapons and Armor Fixes

Whiterun Market Fixes

Furry comment fix

Ash Pile Expiration

Matching Armor Set Fixed

Lydia Loop Fix

Bard Quest Fixes

Food Restore Health Fix

Ghorza gra-Bagol Investment

LCBM-Lydia Can Be Married

Deflect Arrows Perk Fix

Resolving Muiris problem

A Quality World Map - With Roads

Mostly fixes. The only true changes are movement speed and the better map (I count these also as fixes frankly).

I'm intrigued by the cloak mod and I'd love to see a high quality pant/leggings mod (the skirt armors don't make much sense, to me, considering the climate).

For me it would be...:

Project ENB

Better Males Favoredsoul

CBBE

Apachii Hair

The Choice is Yours

Paarthurnax Choice 3

The Way of the Dovahkin - Ultimate Deadly Encounters (aka Sleeping Dangers - Sands of Time)

Thieves Guild Requirements - No Auto Start

Stealth Skill Rebalanced

Realistic Loot Lite

Trade and Barter

Duel Combat Realism

Faster Stand Up Animation

Hunterborn

Reduced Gold Rewards for Quests

Werewolf Mastery

Skyrealism Crafting Kits

SkyUI

Harvest Overhaul

Serana is Really a Vampire

Stenvar Revamped

CoT

....And a Realistic Poisons Mod

I like Immersion (realism), Challenge and Beauty...Most realism can be RP'ed without the use of Mods...such as eating, drinking, sleeping, keeping warm, not fast traveling, etc...I love Mods where I can't RP it and consider them essential to game play....And without a good Combat challenge, the game bores me quickly and I loose interest.

Thanks for all the good suggestions.

Ive find myself modding and modding over and over.. the highest I get is level 10, then I break my game by doing something stupid like merging mods or removing some mod I realy know I shouldnt remove.

Its time to actually play Skyrim for once and use as few mods as possible.

How important is graphics to you people? I find myself having really strong OCD about having the best textures the game can have no matter how few ESPs I want to use

I find so long as my character can look good...ie: Better Males with Urshi's face and body textures for males and decent hair and Armor...and match the males with CBBE and it's included textures for the females....the rest I am happy with just a good ENB alone....though I do love 'Inside the Nebula' for the night sky, looks spectacular. That's about all I use textures wise, I don't feel the need with anything else.
