draighox
To register the EverQuest free trial I have to enter the Account Key, 'which can be found on the EverQuest® II disc holder'. I have downloaded it, I have no disc holder. Where can I find this key?
loveme4whoiam
I had a similar problem with my EVE trial - I had to email the Support guys at CCP to mail me a new product key. Perhaps you should do the same, unless the EQ2 website can tell you anything about the problem?
Slaiv
It should have been mailed to the inbox of the e-mail address you specified when you registered for Fileplanet/the Trial.
suzerain
to do a little thread necromancy, I hope I'll be excused a comment. I'd heartily reccommend Eve for any players looking for a MMO that's not full of "l333t kiddies" type players. after somthing close to 2 1/2 years now, I'm still an active player, and have'nt managed to even scracth the surface of the content and come close to running out of stuff to do. unlike any other game I know, all content expansion is free - and that includes the complete DirectX10 version due to hit the players in the "kali" expansion in autumn. the recent "blood" expansion gave new bloodlines to create along with Red Moon Rising, which introduced a tonne of new content, from more detailed areas, to new ships, industry and economical controls, etc. if you're a graphics angel, it may be on a 3 year old engine, but, personally, it's still as good as WOW, and with a far more gritty, atmospheric design ethos... and it's only going to get better with the new engine designed to let eve continue for another 6 years at least. In reality, we're actually playing Eve II - the Exodus expansion upgraded almost the entire game and how it worked, Kali will be Eve III, and will still allow you to continue with the same characters. And unlike any other MMO, eve is a single shard - 25,000 player characters online in the one world at one time is common nowadays - amazing to cope with. and Eve has the most compelling, vicious PVP in *any* mmo. combat is something were you get a real adrenaline rush, the fear of actual loss of your ship is there - and if you die... you lose everything. Amazingly harsh, and so much fun. Also, the skill system means that while training takes time, instead of grinding, it means that a newbie can match a veteran within a month or two in their chosen area - just the older players have a wider range of specialisations, or can pilot the ultra-advanced ships that'll still take a while for a new player to get. utterly compelling game. and I'll stop rambling now. loveme4whoiam
I don't mind the necro-ing - others might, but forget them :D Peregrine made a great post to this effect a little while ago, and I totally agree with what both you and he said. It's a totally different game to anything else out there, and as such should be worshipped.Unfortunately a (barely) minimum-wage job wouldn't fuel my addiction to the game so I can't rejoin, plus a great deal of time goes into my BF2 clan. Glad to see you are enjoying EVE suzerain - enjoy Kali, it was a long time coming I seem to recall. Also, may I say I'm glad to see another pre-Oblivion member returning to the fold :D

Also, may I say I'm glad to see another pre-Oblivion member returning to the fold :D Been a Eve follower since long before Morrowind came out. I first joing the CCP forums in 2000 - many long nights spent talking about how the game might be designed with Hellmar and Rinnywee. the design ethos of Eve influenced post- D***k MeMod heavily. Seen some of my design ideas added even, which is a fine feeling. would'nt get that of bethdesa, would you? and, I've not returned - I've never been away. just not been posting so much these days. y'all would'nt like to hear my rants on the design travesty that is Oblivion, and Memod left me as a tired out old sod :D

I think if you posted those rants, you'd be getting a lot more nods of agreement than counter-arguments. After seeing the console-moron disaster Oblivion became, I've really lost all interest in the game. I played it for about a night, then moved on.
