SilvuruAgnost
I just can't understand why everybody hates fargoth. Actually I like him. He is just a poot bosmer beeing messed with. >The ones you should hate after my opinion is that guy who took his famely herloom and put it in the barrel!!! :angry2:
ThetaOrionis01
It might have something to do with the atrocious whining voices the Bosmer were landed with....
Abramul
Which, by the way, are the same as one of the intro voices (the other, I think, is a Dunmer). How many voice actors did they use?
Switch
As few as possible, I think. :wink2: The truth of the matter is, all Bosmer NPCs are slightly annoying if you hang around them too much. Fargoth is just the one everyone picks on because he's the first one they meet. :tongue2:
ThetaOrionis01
I think the reasons why people hate Fargoth are psychological. Fargoth is the epitome of the victim - he whines, he blames everyone else for his bad fortune, he does not take control of his life but allows others to control it for him. When we are confronted with such a person - who embodies all that which we do not want to be (after all, who wants to see themselves as weak?) our initial reaction is irritation. Then of course Fargoth's whole demeanour is designed to bring out the latent bully in us... he is, so to speak, 'asking for it'. He casts himself as the perpetual victim - and so, in a self-fulfilling prophecy, he becomes such. Because we reject and despise what he stands for - and perhaps deep down we fear that perhaps we are not as strong as we would like - we feel compelled to prove that we very different.. not victims, but victors. Of course, victory over a creature as pathetic as Fargoth only shows up our own weakness :D [/pseudopsychology]
Malchik
Duh? What troubles me slightly is that the Bosmer voices have not been computer modified. Somebody actually speaks like that! And the male Breton! To them I say, you are probably very nice people and I apologise most humbly for any offence we have given you for constantly referring to your voices as whiney and bleaty and wet. Of course we know you are only ACTING that way. There, I think that covers it.
dunmer_jediknight
I have to agree with theta on why we all hate fargoth lol. I usally ignore him (except to give him his useless heirloom). Once I modified him to carry a comelion belt I had created in the TCS but failed to taunt him into combat( when I accully did fight him he went invisible and ran off lol, just one more reason to hate him, hes a coward) But all the press he gets here in the forums is interesting ( I have a feelling he almost gets the most attention here lol) thou I fail to understand why that is so. just my two cents. Kevin Woodman
I don't like him because I give him his ring and he just thinks I'm his best friend and he'll put in a good word for me? Like his his word is any good especially since no one even likes him, NPC's included. I'll make my own friends thank you. He could at least pay me some of that gold he's hiding. I think I'll just keep his crappy ring. But i guess other than that he's allright. I'm not that far into the quests but so far he seems to not be important enough for a second thought. Peregrine
The simple answer is few people really hate Fargoth. They just hear everyone else talking about how much they hate Fargoth and follow along mindlessly with the majority. The end result is you get things like people who have played about 5 minutes of the game making threads about the many ways Fargoth should die, to try to gain acceptance from the community. It's pathetic really, that anyone even cares about Fargoth for more than a few seconds.
