apocalypse1138
I'll put in my two cents of fun in now... It is called fort "DEATH", right? Then you could put Death from the castlevania series in there...just make a huge lich...give him an oversized scythe...maybe a few neat custom spells and voila! You have on incredibly cool and frustrating boss....:P ~I will be suprised if you use that idea...
Ranokoa
Ooooo... so.. tell me.. in po forums lol, i love obse. OMG holy [EDIT] *Crud* ROFL. Actually yes, we are planning on doing something of the "lich" boss nature.. But more so for a quicky acquisition kind of thing, however, there is going to be more to it lol. Geez dude, almost right on the money.
apocalypse1138
Lol, I was actually thinking he would be the original master of the fort... -I just was always disappointed at the lack of good bosses in Oblivion and thought it would be a good time to suggest it...:P -Saying there is going to be more to it makes it quite a bit more interesting then...after all, what more could there be to that idea? (actually there could be alot more...:P)
Ranokoa
Well, i wont tell the "more" to it, but i will give a generalized depiction of what i cam up with as a quicky way of obtaining the fort.. i never really put a lot of thought into it, however, so i am pretty much open to new ways or complete revision. Of course, actually getting to "obtain" it will be done almost last, as we want quick access for playtesting. Basically, somehow you hear of the forts location.. havent decided how.. that is still open.. You go to the fort, and you see a mess of skeletal guards that are not aggressive, you walk into the center of the outside of the fort, and are approached by a necromancer. He talks to you and pleads that you help him, and he seams rather histerical. He explains some storyline about the fort, how he made it his domain, blah blah blah, and says that while experimenting he found a way to completely control a Lich. He wanted to make the lich super powerful and attempt to take the very soul of the lich or something and use it to enhance his own powers, as it was easier to buff up something else rather than himself to see if it works. When he discovered how, and did so, the lich was more powerful than he imagined, MUCH more powerful, too powerful for him to control. The lich went feral (i guess we will add storyline about how the lich was the original owner) and now the lich is on the move to attack and kill the necromancer. Fearing for his life, he used an extremely dangerous and powerful spell to cast the lich leagues away, but the spell cost a huge toll on the necromancer and now the necromancer is powerless to defend himself. He found and trapped every soul he could find nearby, travelers, guards, merchants, bears, wolves, deers, and used all their souls to summon a small army of strong skeletal guards, but he knows all too well that the guards will not be enough at all to take down the lich. He asks for your help, and after saying "Why on earth would i help a necromancer", or something, he says that he will reward you with unimaginable riches. You reluctantly agree, and he tells you that he needs to do a chant and read a tome of death to undeath to kill the lich, and needs your help to stay alive long enough to summon the strength to cast the spell. He implores you use the help of the skeletal guards to your advantage, as even though they are by far not enough to take on the lich, they are still strong enough and in numbers enough to disrupt and distract the lich. When you exit chat, he yells "HERE IT COMES! I CAN FEEL IT GETTING CLOSE!" And then the lich spawns and comes straight for the necromancer. The guards all attack the lich, and you have to as well as if you dont, not only will you DIE, but so will the other dude. From this point it seams as though you CAN kill the lich, after a long battle (and quite a few potions) the lich eventually dies and disappears. You go to the necromancer and tell him that you killed him. He tells you that you have in no way killed him, but mearly destroyed his mortal body, and the lich will reappear in his immortal form very shortly. If you managed to kill him, then as soon as the lich comes back a cutscene will happen, and you will loose control. (you will be outside the fort at this point and in the wide and opened area) The lich appears, and the skeletal guards all go after him. He casts a spell and all the skeletons are pushed back and die, he comes walking towards you and the necromancer whom is still chanting. Before he can cast anything to kill either of you, the necromancer finished his chant and casts a spell on himself. At that point, the lich stops and a large storm of electricity or fire or something appears and surrounds the lich. As the storm fades, so does the lich. you talk to the necromancer and he says that he has banished the lich to oblivion for eternity, and thanks you for the help. You inquire about the reward. He says that he has lived in this fort for a long time, and has no interest in staying in the fort any longer, as the temptation and secrets of the fort are too much for him to bear anymore. He gives you the key, and says its all yours. He thanks you again for your help, and tells you any information you might need about improving the fort, or about the forts history can be found in his bedchambers in a book on a desk. The fort is yours, and thats where i end this story. There IS more too it, but if i told it would be a spoiler. This is just a rough, quick thinking way to obtain it, i havent really put much thought into it.
apocalypse1138
Rough? Sounds pretty darn EPIC to me!-The lich should still be bigger(perhaps) and have a scythe...:P-There should also be a way to bind your characters soul to the fort... aka Shivering Isles script, except make it have a negative effect, to balance it...-If you choose to do this and have a negative effect to the soul binding... then you should also give the character the chance to un-bind his soul, a la "Vampirism Cure" quest from vanilla Oblivion...-You should also put an evil looking sphere somewhere in there...:P
Ranokoa
what do you mean "bind your soul". I dont get it.
apocalypse1138
Well, let's say the fort is somewhat more complicated...not by much though...If you ever read harry potter there was something with binding parts of a soul to inaminate objects... as long as the object existed, the soul could not be destroyed. What I am saying is the player binds their soul either to the fort or something within the fort... -That's the best I can do as I must go in a minute...:P
Ranokoa
you mean make them god in their own fort? No, thats too lore unfriendly, and too overpowered. A good idea i guess, but it is NOT a direction i want to go with this mod. However.. i suppose adding a script that adds an ability that gives you + strength, magicka, fatigue and such WHILE IN the fort would not be too much a big deal, but by far, im not overpowering this mod. There is enough of that already lol.

Ranokoa
i MAY or may not have.. ok i definetly did go a little bit overboard. when i was trying to make an island in a seperate world as a "testing" world or something, i kind of spaced out, woke up from a day dream an hour later and found out that i did this.. instead of making just 2 circular ovalish large islands that are no where near as big as this. This is umm.. actally very big. I edited it a bit too, so the center isle is actually maybe almost twice as big as it is in here now. http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/4853/oblivionisles.jpg http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/8326/updateumn.jpg Ok here is an updated picture of the oblivion symbol. It LOOKs sloppier, but in reality is is much more to shape of the actual sign. I took the copyrighted logo image from Google images and compared it directly with this. Anytime i made a change i made sure to screenshot the CS and crop it in and replace the old part of the image with it. BY THE WAY! This is nothing but a peiced together puzzle of me screen shotting about 30 different cells or more from the construction set, and peicing it together in MS Paint, so you will notice some lines dont conform correctly, this is because i did elevation changes and softend verticles a lot. While it is in the exact correct position, the elevation on certain areas being changed did not match the old elevation that i did not update. Yes, this is bumpy and hilly, sometimes mountainous, dont look at that, the mountain thing is just basically 10% done, look at the shape. And also, by the way, this is not off topic.. this is actually IN the mod. Although FOR the mod and what i originally intended to do this IS off topic, but only because i was intended and was supposed to make circular islands not an oblivion sign. When i did a direct comparison using an image viewer, i could scroll up and down to different images while on full screen, so there is no clicking involved or whatever i was able to see the exact changes needed. This is not PERFECT, but it is dang near. Honestly, i dont think we are even going to use this big island in the mod.. it is not really what we needed. I will either delete it alltogether and call it a fun experiment, or i will export the world space so i have it saved somewhere OFF the esp, and then delete it and do the actual intended islands. Or i can export this island, not use it here, and upload it as a modders resource... idk. Tell me what you think anyways!
