CrazyGilbert
I dont really know why I did this but just a few minutes ago me and my grandmother had a disputer about how you say it
Malchik
Are you asking how you spell it or say it? Two alternatives you propose (yogurt and yoghurt) are correct as is yaourt or yoghourt according to Chambers dictionary. Yogourt is not listed. I usually spell it Yoghurt and pronounce the Yog to rhyme with jog not joe. Sometimes I call it Yaourt.
CrazyGilbert
I saw Yogourt on the front cover of a Yogurt container
Switch
Sounds like a typo to me. :P Either that or it could be a brand name? Personally I spell it yoghurt but yogurt works too I think.
CrazyGilbert
no, there were like three of them all spelt the same....hmm I am wondering if there are more than 3 waysd of saying it?
loveme4whoiam
I always assumed that yoghurt was the English spelling, while yogurt (pron: Yo!-gurt) was the American. This has to be one of the most off-topic threads I've seen by the way :D
CrazyGilbert
Yeah, it is pretty off topic but it is the off topic forum...I think its spelled yogurt but...
ThetaOrionis01
I usually spell it yoghurt, and eat it with frozen summer fruits. Greek yoghurt rules. :D Though mixed with cucumber and mint it's also very nice.
