So I'm updating an animation mod for skyrim, so question goes for updating any mod. I've turned off auto-sort on the plug-in page. anubanimobj.esp was at load order 121. I delete the anub amimation mod...so now load order # 121 is missing(blank) cause I've delete the anub mod. 121 is missing cause the plug-ins have not auto-sorted cause I have auto-sort disabled. So the holly grail question is when I load in the updated anub animation mod...the anubanimobj.esp is sitting at the top of load order on plug-in page. somethime with load order 1 or with a questions mark(?) on load order...cause auto-sort is off. The holly grail question is how do I get anubanimobj.esp back to load order 121. I do not care where LOOT wants to put it. I the player of my skyrim game using vortex...I'm in control of my game and vortex. So how do I place anubanimobj.esp back at 121 after I update the mod. Not load order 51, not 100, not 85. I don't care where LOOT wants to put it. I want it back at 121. thankyou very much.

Nope I just tried what you said, with Billyy's animations this time. The old version was 6.9, the new version 7.0. So ver 6.9 slalanimobjbillyy.esp was on load order 164. I dropped the new ver 7.0 in. Vortex flagged with a redundant flag, then I left check to disable redundant mod which disabled the 6.9 version. while all this is going on, I'm leaving the autosort enabled. So when Vortex finally did its thing disabling ver 6.9 and enabling ver 7.0. It placed the slalanimobjbillyy.esp plug-in in load order 84. So LOOT is scrambling things up after an update. why man, why does vortex not allow plugins placed back where they were? Can the programmers of Vortex please give us manual control of our plug-ins. Its my game, Vortex does not own my game...
