In vanilla Oblivion, I like a trusty 1-hand glass shortsword, especially with the light blue glass retexture.

 

But, my all time favorite is the Amber Shortsword in SI.

Well since there's really only vanilla choices, I was quite fond of a nice old glass longsword. Always liked the look of the glass stuff, and the shortsword wasn't long enough lol.

My favorite weapon is the Anduril sword from the "Aragorn's Royal Gear" mod. It's a perfect recreation of Aragorn's sword from ROTK. It's not so much where it comes from, though, as it's just a really cool looking sword imho. I had to stop using it though, it's a bit overpowered. =/

Vanilla? Madness Claymore, all the way.

 

Mod? I have several favorites: Some of my characters exclusively use Ardonnay's elven longblades, which are some of the prettiest swords I have ever seen. I also like the Old Family Sword from Dungeons of Ivellon, and a number of the Realsword swords.
