beebophuckleberry
I have a problem right now with a arrow mod. The arrow mod has a esp and bsa. Because of this, loose files simply overwrite and there isn't a option to sort bsa/loose file conflicts. I'm in discord right now trying to get help. They mentioned that MO2 will show you which loose files are overwriting bsa files. As long as I've used Vortex I've never seen this which brings me to my question... Is there a way to see which loose files are overwriting bsa files in Vortex? Edited May 29, 2023 by beebophuckleberry
HeyYou
As I understand it, loose files take priority over those packed in archives. So, if there is a particular texture that is packed, and being overwritten by a loose file, delete the loose file.....
rmm200
You could always unpack the BSA and install that as a mod for testing.Once you find out what is conflicting, delete the temporary unpacked bsa mod. Some mods require a bsa to function.
7531Leonidas
More Informative Console ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19250 ) will show you the last mod to affect anything that is selected while in the Skyrim console. I do not know if there are similar mods for other Beth games.
Pickysaurus
The simple answer to your question is "No". This isn't a feature that Vortex offers and I don't think it's even been added to our feedback portal so it's a fairly niche use case. (There are some similar suggestions though)
beebophuckleberry
Thanks for the feedback fellas. I'll extract the bsa files, put em in a archive, then view the conflicts. If I'm understanding everything correctly, then I should be able to identify ALL loose files that are overwriting the bsa files. Afterwards, I can remove those loose files and hopefully the files in the bsa will not be overwritten anymore. Thanks again for all the feedback. It helps alot. rmm200
1) Zip up the loose files as if they were a mod (including textures directory) and drag it to Vortex.2) Vortex will flag the conflicts3) Disable and delete your temporary mod.
