Problem: Skyrim SE common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\cache is cross populated with mods from other games. These "MODS" are from other games managed by VORTEX.

Actual folder location:

G:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\cache:

Mods from games other than Skyrim: (The games I recognize)

Fallout 3

Fallout 4

Fallout New Vegas

Questions:

If I delete the files In the cache folder, will it repopulate?

Does Vortex have a command that fixes this issue?

Is this even an issue?

Why I am posting about this:

I have had game crashes and I am attempting to eliminate all possible causes.

I have rechecked mods for compatibility.

I have deleted all game saves from the proper save folder and started new games more than 3 times.

All mods installed have been installed using the Vortex program.

Please help.

Pretty sure this is coming from xEdit and is nothing to do with Vortex

These are the "external?" programs I have installed. xEdit is not one of them; maybe zEdit?

I still need a response about the non 'Skyrim SE' mods in the folder.

Would it hurt anything to remove them?

or

Would the folder repopulate if I deleted all the cached' mods?

Thank you for your time.

What I found:

When I looked at the zEdit program's about, it had a comment that zEdit was built off of xEdit's codebase. Good guess on the cause, Mike.

When I deleted all the files in the cache folder, like you stated, "nothing to do with Vortex", Vortex operated the same as always. When I redeployed the mods, zEdit immediately repopulated the cache folder with all the .json files I had previously mentioned in my OP.

Now I need to find out why I installed zEdit and if I can remove it without losing functionality.

Thank you for your time, MIke.
