Crash on saving

Hello, recently I have been getting CTD's when saving or when I go through a door and an autosave is made.

I always use new saves when saving, and after the crash, the save exists, even though it is corrupted.

I know that sometime before my last couple of new saves I loaded on an autosave, not sure if that could have something to do..

i'll try to get a Message Log if I keep playing, but I dind't find (or understand) anything last time I checked.

Did you remove any mods from your playthrough recently? Does the problem persist if you start a new game?

When I run into trouble like you're having I backup my most recent half dozen or dozen saves (or more if necessary) to a location outside of the normal My Documents location and then start going backwards thru my most recent saves looking for one that doesn't have the problem.

 

Yes some game progress will be lost, but it still beats starting a new game.

 

Once you know the last good save you may try figuring out what caused the problem starting with the first bad save (or just chalk it up to Oblivion being Oblivion and carry on from the most recent good save).

I agree with strikers assessment of oblivion and do the same with the saves. It is also generally recommended to make manual saves and not rely on either quick or auto saves.

Did you clean all the mods you use?

I haven't removed any mods mid playthrough. I'm going to keep playing on from a save like 5 hours less of playtime since my most recent, hope I don't get the same crashes again.

 

I removed autosaves so I'm not tempted to load one again, never used quicksaves in the playtrough.

 

I think I didn't clean any of the mods I use, what do you mean by that exactly?
