Dark0ne
Guild Wars takes the best elements of today's massively multiplayer online games and combines them with a new mission-based design that eliminates some of the more tedious aspects of those games. You can meet new friends in towns or outposts, form a party, and then go tackle a quest together. Your party always has its own unique copy of the quest map, so camping, kill-stealing, and long lines to complete quests are all things of the past. Within a Guild Wars quest you have unprecedented freedom and power to manipulate the world around you; with the dynamic quest system, your accomplishments have a unique influence on your future. Dark0ne
I will be taking part in tomorrow's "Press Wednesday" and then I'll report back with my findings here. It's giving me goosebumps thinking about it though!
Slaiv
You also forgot to mention the most unique part: no monthly fees. They plan to support servers with smei-annual expansion releases. I fully plan on getting these, as the game is more fun than I've had in a long time.
Dilvish
The last Beta Weekend starts Friday, April 15 in the a.m. and will last until midnight on Sunday the 17th. The last BWE was a blast! Guild Wars has the makings of a classic. I hope to see many of you (your characters anyway) there. My character is Owend Gull, Monk/Warrior. I am a member of the Guild Lacerta Priscus (Ancient Lizard). It's a friendly group of adventurers building a new guild together. We're currently recruiting. Dark0ne
Just adding the screenshots to the Guild Wars game page taken from the tutorial area. What a beautiful game! I'll get down to a first impressions review a bit later on.

CLB1110
This game is amazing, and no monthly fees who would have thought! Anyways I loved the graphics in this game and I will be playing the beta this weekend.
Dilvish
Hey CLB1110! It was good to see you in Fort Ranik. Did you get the Warden's Trophies you were looking for? I never got any but someone told me later that spiders drop them. I killed enough spiders in the orchard to retrieve the basket of apples but didn't stick around after that. I hate spiders...especially vicious man-sized spiders. Ugh!
CLB1110
Hey that was you? Hehe I was wondering who that was. No I didnt find any trophies, it was pissing me off. Spiders drop the eh? Ill have to check when its released. Ya the spiders are creepy, especially when they come down from the trees. This beta weekend was awesome, too bad our characters get wiped :*( . Switch
Hmm... I was considering EQ2 as my next MMORPG... but Guild Wars does sound impressive. Well, I know it's not technically a MMORPG but I like being able to play on my own on a game now and then. To people who have actually played EQ2, is it worth just skipping it and going straight onto Guild Wars? Or is EQ2 still worth it? Also, is there any info on when Guild Wars is going to be released? Will it be another one of these, "oh, US gets it first, Europe has to wait another six months" deals? One of the things I didn't like was being able to jump in straight away with a high level character... seems to take the point out of it somewhat.
