Net Framework upgrade for Vortex---Should I? (Im clueless)

I have no idea what it is tbh. I can get around fixing my F ups on a PC but this one feels like I shouldn't do it without asking. I did manage to find my current net code is 4.8. I am on windows 11.

 

Is it as simple as downloading and letting the package install? Will this mess with all my other applications and games?

 

Is this question way to niche per PC config to even ask in a broad stroke?

Net Framework is a part of Windows but doesn't usually request you update until a program requires a newer version. There's a thread with some helpful information. I think it's linked in the Common Solutions sticky.

simplest and easiest is for you to download and install it - it will break nothing, it just updates certain files on your system.

also - go to updates and let windows download and install all available updates for your machine.

it takes the pressure off yourself and it will help your system function as it should.

 

vortex needs the latest net framework. so doing this is going to help you.
