Telvanni

uh methinks telvanni isn't the most powerful. Hlaalu is easily the most powerful. they own Balmora and Suran, two very influential trade towns, they also have strong relations with the Empire, another huge plus for them. Their political agenda is to expand expand expand expand and legally too. Telvanni does it against the laws of the Empire and defies the Duke. So what if they're mages, i'm sure a nice hefty contigent of Mage Guild Battlemages from across Tamriel could wipe the floor with em. Or even just small troop from Daggerfall.

Isolationist fundamentalist factions really don't stand a chance against a much larger well funded and organized group, just take a look at the Afghanis, we took em out fast

Afghanis=Telvanni

Hlaalu and Associates=US and Allies

Any questions?

Yeah, the Telvanni have the Nerevarine and God on their side, not to mention they are more intelligent than the average imperial soldier that only relies on his equipment worth a lot of gold coins and training that doesn't take unconventional warfare into account and always prepares for yesterdays war. Also, people are getting sick and tired of the Empire enforcing it's will everywhere, not taking into account the lifestyle of the local people but instead labeling it as inferior, and even though they play along for now, those times are comming to an end and sooner or later the Empire will be on it's own against an increasingly hostile world, so you can't win no matter how much gold or swords you have ;)

The Televanni are powerful, they are just secluded from the other great houses. They are excellent spell casters and believe that you can just kill anyone that stands in your way. Redoran is made for combat but they couldn't compete with the Televanni's magic. Hlaalu is the strongest and weakest. They can't fight but their political minds allow them to control so much. If you tried to wage war on them they would probably talk it over, make some sort of arrangement, you'd gain their trust then they would stab you in the back.

I personally don't get involved with the houses, too much commotion. And if the empire falls and Morrowind revolts, I'll just fire arrows at anyone who tries to get me.

It's the Wood Elf way.

Yes you americans are the best you and your great president who is suposed to be "the leader of the free world" you invade every country and destroy every enemy just like vietnam, korea and somalia :)

Your oldest city is 200 years old and you think you can dictate how other countries who are thousands of years old work?

I think not!

Anyway I think telvanni is great, i love their architecture, rules and jobs :)

Yes. One.

The Iraq war finished weeks ago. Why have almost 100 allied soliders died since the war ended.

Isolasionist fundalmentalists factions don't stand a chance? Tell that to the IRA

Apologies for being politcal on this one but there.

The houses are all equally powerful in their own way and suitable (or not) for different characters

Please keep politics in the off topic section.

I like house Telvanni - I like their rules...'if you get expelled no one will care...'

And the architecture is soo nice - I love my stronghold at Tel Uvirith.... - and it's designed to keep unwanted visitors away...

The quests are fun too.

Redoran sound ok, but Hlaalu...too closely connected with the Cammona Tong, and then of course there's Uncle Crassius....

Well I have a character thats the Archmagister Telvanni, and I can say that if any of the other Great Houses were to attempt to attack us they would get their asses handed to them. All I would have to do is stand on the top of my tower and rain down spells while my army of Guards, Dwemer Centurions, and summoned monster fight the on coming hoard. And if somehow they were able to break through all that and got into my tower, I have four count them four full proof escape routes I can take to get to safety. Beat that!

I have to agree with Pob on this one. I don't think people give credit where credit is due to each house. Yes, Telvanni is a very powerful magic house, Redoran is more designed for combat, and Hlaalu is for the more political/stealthy character. However, that doesn't mean that each house is comprised solely of that type of character. I am pretty sure that each house has their mages, warriors, scouts, etc. so I am pretty confident in saying that each house is probably equally powerful.

Besides, there would never really be an all out war between these houses, so what does it matter?
