I almost kept my 1.6.640 but I was wanting to use Creation Kit and it would not open and called for and update which then called for Skyrim to be updated... and I bit! I was trying to do a LODs project and make .bsa files. So, what will you do or others are doing in need of CK for version 1.6.640? Aren't all Nexus modders faced with having to update to use CK? I crash when trying to use the SKSE64_Loader. Tell me the details, you are using EngineFixes I presume. So you do not get the notice that SKSE64 and SkyUI are not running? I posted that notice and the racemenu error notice that follows. You must still get something like that??? Basically, I have in steps worked from 1. just getting it to run at all and then 2. run stable and 3. learn the new saves/load order and added mods system. I have not yet gone shopping for fixing my missing mods or capabilities, Just very happy to take a walk in the Skyrim environment was so... well to say... previously all on my mind was LODs and did not realize how much it meant to just walk around in Skyrim. I have zero complaints about that. Steam wrappers? Alex400 Posted December 19, 2023 Share Posted December 19, 2023 Well, after installing parts 1 and 2 for AE I get CTD after trying to load a saved game or start a new one. 7531Leonidas Posted December 19, 2023 Share Posted December 19, 2023 @Ardolon - I 'think' that Backported Extended ESL Support ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/106441 ) allows for one to use the newest CK with older versions of Skyrim SE. Check it out. The Engine Fixes mod needs a couple of edits to its config file to run under 1.6.1130, I have seen the info posted in a couple of instances here. No I did the editing in EngineFixes TOML and what I benefited from was setting having achievements while using mods = false. This solved my initial warning that racemenu and othe dlls were not loading and I should not proceed with loading the game. Engine fixes in that regard got me past that first hurdle. But if I try to boot with SKSE64_Loader I get this error from Engine Fixes that will stop me from loading Skyrim. So I use Engine Fixes only to shut off adhievements when using mods to get past the first warnings. Then since regardless SKSE64 is not going to run I have used SkyrimSELauncher to play You may have to use SkyrimSELauncher to load Skyrim until SKSE can come back in to service. I'm basically just playing it this way to get my fix and waiting to see if SKSE, SkyUI, and MCM make it back. It's still fun for me in this current capacity. I can answer and help you get as far as I have gotten if I ask a few questions... if running Skyrim without SKSE capacity can serve you until SKSE solutions arrive.(?) You just helped me, thanks. I find I can do what I am doing now without Engine Fixes. BUT, I am using SkyrimSELauncher, you might as well also... SKSE will not run anyway and when you use SKSE64_Loader you get or I should say I get a warning it is not a good idea to proceed with loading the game. Yeah, so, I did not really know what you meant by "back to normal". Another idea is when your load takes you to the game menu to not use old saves. Previous update saves, do not use. make a new game, let me know how that goes... take that to a point and make a save, quit to desktop, reboot, at the menu do not select continue, select load, see if you now have a save that appears as <character name>[MODDED] that is what you want instead of selecting continue. When you select that it will contain or will come to contain all the saves you want to get back to. The flag [MODDED] may be why I no longer need Engine Fixes to shut off achievments when using mods. The flag serves that purpose and MSBethesda Skyrim is served by it. OK, if you do not have a <character name>[MODDED] under load get back to me, You need to get that generated if it is not there. Arlodon Posted December 20, 2023 Share Posted December 20, 2023 Another interesting interaction. Sometimes when plugins some how are turned off (disabled) I am asked if I would like them activated. Usually I just say no because they are ones that do not run anyway thanks to 1.6.1130.0.8 that is asking... Then once in the case where the mod in question was SkyUI I was then asked if I would like to look in Creations for an equivalent mod. Hmmm, OK... I bite... I could use something better than no SkyUI, so I look on Creations. Search did not bring up anything. If anyone else can see a UI mod in Creations let me know.
