Bethesda Tools for script cleaning

Starfield saves are in a different format. No tools currently exist to clean scripts. If you've got your save into a state where you think it's required you have two options:

  • Enter NG+ this resets a lot of script data for your save.
  • Start a new game.

Does make me wonder if it's possible to do something like a partial NG+ reset, without actually starting over.  Some sort of save optimizer to clean up form IDs and whatnot.

Have to decode the save format first..... Way back when, the saves were just another esp file, with  a different extension. It was possible to change the extension, and load up your save in the CS....

I did not know that.  Have you tried it with Starfield?

That stopped working with either oblivion, or skyrim, don't remember which...... saves got their own file format.

Shame.  There is zero reason to obfuscate the save file in a single player game.  What difference does it make if players can edit it, especially when you have access to the console?
