Nexus Mod Manager. Sabotage?

Vortex has replaced Nexus Mod Manager as the official mod manager of Nexus Mods. Please use a modern mod manager for the best modding experience.

God why? NMM is very simple and I can install the mods that I have saved on the disk. Is the reason for the blockade that Mr. Pickysaurus is paid by Vortex to eliminate the competition? So we worked it out...

You do realize that both NMM and Vortex were made by the same site don't you? Vortex replaced NMM a long time ago.

It wasn't "competition" is was old vs new.

There's a community version of NMM if you still want to use it, but it is not officially supported by us.

Didn't there use to be a thread somewhere? Or was that MO?

I'm looking forward to what happens when Vortex goes. I wonder if it's a case of absence makes the heart grow fonder? 😀

what an incredible debut post - i mean, surely the only way is up after that?

i will miss vortex when it goes as i think it was a blinding program. i loved the flexibility of it and i believe that its original developer gave up such incredible support time after time and was very responsive to feedback.

i have no interest whatsoever in the new "app". i'll move over to mo2 when vortex is sunset. its a shame how its been replaced so soon.

I can't get Vortex to run any more on Linux... so I'm using MO2 which does run ok. But when it ran it was great. I liked it a lot. I sometimes felt it had aspirations to be something else (MO2 is happy being a mod organizer) but I loved the power of the profiles and it linked seamlessly with Nexus. MO2 gets a bit grumpy so I've taken to downloading manually.

The new app will support Linux so yes, I am interested. But I'd be less interested if I could get Vortex to work again. I should have another go really but I've only just got this lot stable so maybe I'll wait till I'm bored...

Nexus Mod Manager (now called NMM) was dropped as our official mod manager in 2016. All that can be said about that has been said over the last 7 years.

NMM still has a page on the site, it's just not the one you looked at.

You can use whatever suits you, but very few people support or recommend NMM these days.
