Please be aware nobody can answer your question as nobody knows what technique you used to install your mods 🙂

If you installed the with a mod manager, you should be able to uninstall them the same way.

If you installed them manually, you probably need to uninstall the whole game, empty the directories and then reinstall the game, especially if you had hundreds of mods.

Also, if you have only 10 gigabytes of storage on your drive, you need to start uninstalling or deleting a lot of stuff from that drive. You should try to avoid filling a drive more than 50% if you want to maintain the longevity and performance of the drive. The less storage you have remaining, the less performance and the faster your drive will die.

If you use Vortext there is  a "uninstall" button.

but the deeper level of removal is the "remove" tab on the right of each listed mod line in Vortex.

I know u unistalled/ reisntalled your game a few times beofre. you could just do that and make sure all no folder remain before reinstall.

Look on your system for mod archives and move them off your main drive.   (NAS, DAS, Thumb Drive, additional drive on system, etc).

System Downloads folder - where you'd manually download mods.

Mod manager Downloads folder - where you'd have them to be installed.

-----------

Clean out your Recycle Bin if you haven't cleaned it out lately.

-----------

Beyond that, it sounds like you need more storage space.

Why?    Because if all you can free up is the space the installed mods take up you are going to be right back where you are now once you start modding your game again.

Depending on which mods you have it's not advisable to uninstall (a bunch of) mods midgame. If you want to play vanilla with the next gen update the easiest way would be to uninstall the game completely and remove the relating game folders. Afterwards a clean new install with the next gen update and a new playthrough. So you can wait for your mods to be updated.

so what i need to

  1. remove all game files that are apart of fallout4
  2. then use the uninstall feature in vortex to get rid of all my mods

and afterwards would i be able to reinstall all the mods I want to keep in my game afterwards i finish my new playthrough?

I run Fo4 on a laptop with only 256gbs of storage and i leave my other games on a SSD that is external since all my storage is on a SSD as the main storage unit of my laptop, and I also just want to get rid of all my mods and download the mods i want to keep since most of my mods I don't really use at all, and just waste so much of my space that i just sifted through them all and selected all the ones i wanted to keep.
