Record that somewhere you can revisit the sentiment in forty years. It would be very interesting to see if you still believe it. I hope you do.

I really did recently have a couple of conversations about everyone being broken for life, so I had decided to reply by writing a song about it and putting the song in a film. However, the film isn't suitable for this forum 😞 I linked it in the Supporter section, but I realize you don't have access to that. So here's a transcription of the lyrics without its music and singing and film.

Little boy Age of three
Falls down Nose broken bleeds
Stone steps Harsh and cold
He'll grow strong
Brave and broken

Girl at seventeen
Swears she'll never be mean
Dancing dreams Chasing love
Stars shine in the night
She's bold and broken

Life's twists and turns
We slowly learn
Life's ups and downs
We slowly turn
From young to old
Stories unfold
Life's twists and turns
Be bold and broken

Man is twenty-five
Feels regret for what he's done
Pain alive In Memories
They won't fade
Lessons learned
Debts of blood are paid
Be bold and broken

Cat at the end
Dies alone
Life's last steps
No cure for death's zone
But our memories
They remain
Broken days and love
Through the pain
Broken

Life's twists and turns
We sometimes learn
Life's ups and downs
We sadly turn
Broken

From young to old
Stories of past unfold
Life's twists and turns
Be bold and Broken

The Titanic-Olympic Switch Theory. That one never made sense to me.

For those who don't know, the theory began when a man named Robin Gardener wrote a book claiming that the R.M.S. Titanic was swapped with her near-identical sister, the R.M.S. Olympic, after the latter collided with a Royal Navy ship, the H.M.S. Hawke. The theory claimed that Olympic was so severely damaged that she was considered a write-off by White Star Line and that the company's executives hatched an insurance scam to swap Olympic with Titanic and have her sink at a predetermined point. I read the book and couldn't get over how flawed the author's knowledge of the whole situation was. I still cringe.

I could write a novel on how ridiculous this theory is, but instead, here are a couple of videos that explain it for me.

Yes... agreed. If there was a competition for the weirdest weird theory ever then it really ought to be on the short list. 😉

The Titanic-Olympic Switch Theory is false! It could not have been carried out and even if it could have been it would not have been worth all the effort spent to do it; also too much could have gone wrong thus exposing the 'conspiracy' to defraud the insurance people.

I totally agree with you, RedHeadAngel and zixi.

Apparently, there are people out there who think Helen Keller was never real. My girlfriend just showed me an article about it.

This is why I don't have TikTok.

A nasty weird theory is that the Nazi Holocaust never happened! Holocaust deniers both anger and amaze me! There is an amazing amount of evidence that it did take place and yet such people persist in refuting it.

While I've heard that theory dozens (hundreds?) of times in the last 30 or 40 years, I don't actually believe anyone believes it for two reasons:

a) sometimes who says the theory is the news, and they generally lie and inflate stuff to get people riled up and watch them, and

b) generally people who say that are young neo nazis who, likewise, are trying to get people riled up.

Back in the late 1980s through the 1990s I was in more rumbles and fights against neo nazi gangs than I can remember, but I didn't always fight them, at least not right away. I often talked to them, and many were not only friends with the people they pretended to hate but were rational deep down. They still were antagonistic in general and often required confrontation, but there's a separation between what people say they believe and what people believe.

As for weird theories, well, that's kind of hard for me to think of any I think are weird because I try not to judge that way.

But I guess, for the sake of the thread, I'll pick the theory that you have to sacrifice people on a pyramid so the sun will come up. I read a while back that the Aztecs killed 5 million people this way. I'm not sure if it's a weird theory, but it's a silly one.

Post Script: I just remembered a perfect example of someone not believing what he is famous for believing. Anton LaVey. He produced musical albums, films and pretended to do sermons for and about Satan, but he was an atheist (meaning he obviously had no belief in it *Laughs*). But what he said was often profound and wise. For instance, on the back of his CD titled "Satan Takes a Holiday" he said: "The greatest sin is false gaiety." That's one of my favorite lines ever by anyone.

I have a weird theory: The world is going to end on new years 2025 as this is the first quarter century with AI.
