If you navigate to the record(s) with the attached scripts that need to be compiled, you can open the script into the built-in editor, make any changes as necessary, save and then compile using the Build option. But if the script is not shown in its entirety within the built-in editor, you do not want to use this method. If you save a script that exceeds the built-in editor's character limit, it will cut off the excess. At least it is another option available to you until you are able to resolve the main issue.

Expand I don't think I'll risk that, but thanks, anyway. I'm not even sure how to do it. I'll take a look.
