HeyYou
Freedom of speech, or pretty much anything else, does NOT imply freedom from consequence of said speech/actions.
InDarkestNight
Freedom of Speech means the government can't come after you for what you say. They don't have the right to lock you up just because you don't like the current system 100%. This doesn't extend to the private sphere, yes. Companies do have the right as to what gets said on their platform. Of course, its long been said they have too much power over speech. They're the ones curating who gets the audience of the internet. Facebook was censoring both right-wing speech along with religious speech for years. The former was suspected for a while, but the latter wasn't found out until they started investigating the first! Youtube's also gone overboard censoring ANY channel that talks about even mundane things like history. There's also been rampant complaints about how conspiracy theory channels get far more noticed than channels trying to debunk them. Of course, this is probably due to them being far more numerous, meaning their audience is spread out more thinly, making it far easier for them to evade notice. Still, it is allowing conspiracy theories to spread out of control, and part of that is them STOPPING THE VIGILANTES WHO ARE TRYING TO FIGHT BACK. There are few contrasting voices on youtube, and the ones that do exist get censored disproportionately. Wonderful times we live in.
ScytheBearer
Most people don't give tuppence about the truth. They made up their mind based on their biases and prejudices long ago. Now, they only want to hear/see what they already know to be true, they want to reinforce their biases and prejudices. These folks practice deliberate and willful ignorance, shutting out the truth. Any truth or fact or scientific information which doesn't fit into their existing biases and prejudices is labeled "misinformation" or "fake news" or "just theory". Worse still, these folks lie to themselves and everyone else about what they really want. They clamor about wanting to know the truth, about how the truth is withheld from them. They complain loud, long and often about the "lamestream media" and the "liberal press" and how it seeks to mislead and misdirect and deflect the truth. They rail against "censorship" and claim it exists everywhere. But the reality is that they DON'T want to hear the truth, they want to hear the sweet and comforting lies and half truths which reinforce their existing "knowledge". MrJoseCuervo
Humans natural state is barbarism. Civilization is the construct or as some see it, a gilded cage. Greed is merely the prehistoric part of our brain doing what it has for millennia. Keeping you alive. We are meant to live in small (150 peeps) communities. Keeping what you have hunted and gathered was important to keep your family alive, and I am sure it will again the day this sh!t house goes up in flames. If Ayn Rand wrote Imagine. Imagine there's no taxes It's easy to conceive No fiscal burdens to oppress us Just freedom to achieve Imagine all the people Living off their own means... Imagine there's no central banks It isn't hard to do No monetary manipulation And financial freedom's true Imagine all the people Trading with Bitcoin... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not alone in this I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live in bliss Imagine no property tax I wonder if you can No more need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Truly owning their land... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one
Mudran
I thought I was banned for sure because of I was a bit wrong in my previous post about Englad, also I was afraid I will be wrong again, but the world is changing and there is so much lies which are created on purpose of destruction and sold as "helping" Like those "invites to people" who will cause problems to your economy because they are military and too many of them is only one of them. EU had to know it doesn't work before they created this as a law in EU and forced governments to agree with it - it seems it was created on purpose and those who want to destroy EU are globalists, communists (but they are diminishing) and Iran with their islam. And you can see exactly those people in United nations, WEF and other global gatherings, where they are given place and other do listen to them. I have to write another information somewhere - Spain was flooded, brought to their knees, lied about it, turned against their king and now they are agreeing to the EU plan which will harm them about letting 300k illegals to the country. They bow to EU which actually created their problem by creating policy of removal of dams from rivers and Spain removed them the most. Those people affected by the flood will never be told that it was removal of dams (accourding to Toulsi TV which I found in the meantime and they shared all the info). They have been convinced that removal was helping the flow and it is obvious now how much it was helping the flow - even now they don't see it as a direct result. They were told that the flood was caused by global warming. And after that they were not be given help for 3 days. They blame their local leader for it, but I believe their prime minister is servat of World economic forum. I agree that not all catastrophes can be prevented, but if you make it worse... I know it because there was flood in my country aswell and only certain cities were damaged and the locals said that it was because greens activists prevented them to build barriers and restrictions on the river before those towns. activists influenced by eu... Those illegal immigrants will be granted citisenship, then they have free pass anywhere in Europe and then EU will force big compianis which they have monitored already to accept them by "color law" like it is in America, that does mean that local Europeans will loose jobs. Then they will be accepted to local administration aswel as police and turn against local Europeans as it did happen in Englad. Mainstream know nothing about England, so they will not push back. Maybe Im wrong but those lies by activists are there because scientists and experts are silenced or corrupted.
ScytheBearer
There is no such thing as "too much information". When it comes time to make decisions or choices, the issue isn't "too much information", but rather "not enough good information". And therein lies the first chafe point in our decision making processes; there is such a thing as "too much bad information". Sadly, it's up to the listener/reader/viewer to winnow information and separate the seed from the chaff. But here again lies another point for disconnect. A miner may gasp and grasp at the shiny bits of obsidian in their pan, while ignoring the nuggets of gold. The perceptions of the reader/listener/viewer can cause good information to get lost while the pretty bits which appeal to some other sense get plucked from the milieu and elevated in importance. Our own filters can limit our access to "good information". And our filters further complicate things when we decide that some information portal doesn't tell us what we want to hear, so we will shut them out. Whether it is that uncle at the holiday feast or a newspaper or broadcast, shutting out information portals because they share "too much information which fails our fitters" is the equivalent of saying "I want to be ignorant". It is self imposed censorship. Remember, there is no such thing as "good" or "bad" information. There is only information. The viewer/reader/listener decides whether information is "good" or "bad". So, check your filters and see what you are choosing to believe. The censorship you rail against may be internal and and of your own creation as opposed to some grand global conspiracy to obfuscate the truth.
