jonesy497
That's all. It's a bit ridiculous. I generally don't bother with adblockers because I know many sites make their money from ads but this takes the piss, I'll probably acquire a blocker. Guest deleted156886133
Get the Brave Browser. I get one ad and it's the native Go Premium banner. I can deal/ignore that. Hah! Sorry Nexus, I'm broke. But seriously, Brave works well for me.
showler
I can't imagine ads bad enough to make use Brave as a regular browser.

Try logging out and see what the home page looks like then.  Edited September 5 by LenaWolfBravil

It was blocking before I made the advancement. I've been praising Brave for awhile now. 42 minutes ago, LenaWolfBravil said: Try logging out and see what the home page looks like then. Same. 1 hour ago, showler said: I can't imagine ads bad enough to make use Brave as a regular browser. It does eat RAM like a 21-day Naked and Afraid survivor post-extraction but I deal with it. As long as I keep tab count reasonable, it performs well --load times are decent. I never set out to find a browser to block ads specifically on Nexus. I've was using Brave before I even came here. Why are you guys hating on Brave? Well, mostly showler.
showler
It frequently disables things necessary to the function of a webpage in the name of paranoia security. Just on this forum alone the number of times a problem has been solved as soon as someone mentions "I use Brave" is staggering.

I suppose I could use something else and let more threats through but that really doesn't sound practical. For me, the only problem I've had so far was when I attempted to change my avatar and had the upload blocked due to canvas fingerprinting. There are some inconveniences, true. But it works for me. Oh yeah, and yesterday with the incessant CloudFare verification requests. Thanks to the devs for dialing back security settings, by the way. 14 minutes ago, LenaWolfBravil said: I was simply thinking that you weren't seeing ads for reasons unrelated to which brower you use. Yeah, no worries. That why I tacked on the mostly showler part. That last line was something of an afterthought right before I hit Submit Reply. Sometimes my fingers get ahead of my brain. Iluviel
We are planning on reducing the number of ads on the site, by approximately 30-40% in the future (specifically the left and right tall banner ads).
