Mod Browsing Overhaul Discussion

Earlier I wrote You (Nexus Staff) could just have improved the code under the hood, and kept the design of the webpage. In case you didn't understand what i mean, here's an example:

This image.png.6b3004b6e219387b49ec83a3a55e3c36.png is a picture of a VW Käfer (VW Beetle) with an E-Motor, officially approved by Volkswagen VW. (https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/oldtimer/vw-e-kaefer-2019-elektro-kaefer-ab-werk/)

This image.png.08d0c90a0469c7583434417a6d7a3a48.png is a picture of an old VW Käfer with the normal fuel motor. (http://soulcars.de/portfolio_page/volkswagen-kaefer-cabrio-1969/)

You see, the changes are just under the hood, but they both look the same. One is new, one is old, simple.

You could just have done the same with your webpage and nobody would have complained.

The new UI is so much less readable and less intuitive to navigate. There is no visual distinction between any of the different element and it makes navigation actively worse. If it's not broke don't fix it! What exactly was the intent with this change? What issues were the designers trying to address other than making it look more modern and generic? This literally looks like y'all just hired some corporate think tank and told them to make the most bland and generic web layout they can think of. No body cared that "element of the design hadn't been updated in 10 years" stop changing things for the sake of change! Such a bad decision I might honestly just stop using Nexus because this change is so terrible and switch over to ModDB despite liking that site's design far less than the previous design of Nexus that's how much worse this version of the website is in my opinion.

Please, for the love of god, revert this awful change. No one is ever going to download mods through their phone, the design does not need to be phone friendly.

Fully agreed. Nobody mods on a phone. The main platform for modding is PC.

100% this. you don't make one design to fit both. That just winds up being a shitty experience for everyone.

But how are you a mobile user of this site in practicality? Will someone explain it to me?  It seems to me that people may waste time by browsing on mobile sometimes. But... EVERYONE mods their games while on their PC? Don't they? Am I missing something?

Mentioned above, but the tracked contents updates are invaluable for mod authors so we can easily see new comments on our mod pages. Is removing this a deliberate choice? Surely you don't expect us to scour all our mod pages for new comments?

This is a serious downgrade in functionality and suggests to me that you have idea what users really want/need.

I'm also missing the list view of new mods, with small thumbnails, top to bottom, and only see a 'gallery' type view now.
