The DP tab now shows "log in" constantly. It redirects when hovered to the mod page.

Luckily, I just found the Hot Jar survey and answered it, but after closing it, I remembered one thing to put in a bug report. On the mod page, including my mod, under Permissions and credits, Donation Points system, it says "Please log in to find out whether this mod is receiving Donation Points" but I am logged/signed in. The link leads to the following message: "You are already signed in." It's likely unrelated to the Mod Browsing Overhaul, but I can say with confidence that it at least happened after the site was updated.

WHERE IS THIS HOTJAR SURVEY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

TELL PEOPLE HOW TO GET TO IT OR FIND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would have thought more relevant stats than a poll would have been, for a start:
* how many people opted in to the Beta?
* what was the Beta retention rate? ie: how many people stayed in the Beta
* what was the engagement level of people opted in to Beta? ie: what was their usage level

A certain amount of, perhaps justified, hubris might come in to play. I mean after all, even if everyone hated it, where are they going to go with such a deep pool of mods available.

Definitely strong "research paper dishonesty" vibes here.  Just massage the numbers and cherrypick specifics until you have something you can present that misrepresents reality so you can construct the narrative you already decided on around it.

I had the same thoughts as you that their numbers probably came from people who opted into the beta.

Not pictured: The thousands, tends of thousands? Hundreds of thousands? Maybe more? Of users who logged in, saw an "Opt into the new beta redesign" button and said to themselves "haha no, why the f*#@ would I do that? I'm 100% happy with the current design".

It's very telling when you offer up a new version of something and present it to the users but they don't opt in.

You know what I DO opt into sometimes?  Stuff like Microsoft Teams.  Eventually I'm like "Yeah, you know what, fine, Teams is already a dumpsterfire, maybe they actually made it better for once" - People opt into new versions of apps when they're unhappy with the existing app/experience.  If 99% of your users aren't opting in, that's a sign you should be reevaluating if the redesign was even necessary in the first place.

Absolutely my thoughts.

I *think* I opted in, briefly looked at the overblown UI and opted out again.

A UI shouldn't be afraid to challenge people, and if the old UI was causing issues for newcomers for the site then some hand holding, a very apropos "tutorial mode" could be available where it highlights functionality and helps newbies find their way. It would have been much better than tossing out the design tacitly approved by **millions** of users because there was some 'feeling' new users were finding it difficult.

A challenge down to the Nexus team: offer the original format as an alternative to toggle over to, and if you want accurate polling see just what % of users switch or (I'm mature enough to acknowledge the *possibility* I'm wrong) don't switch to it. Don't insult the existing user base by claiming the poll was in any way truly representative.

So that post actually doesn't address the questions I've been asking for a few days now. I'll post them again, I'll tag you and the others again and *hopefully* you can answer them.

1. Why make a major overhaul to a site without having a functioning backup of the original? (If this isn't the case then Nexus staff are lying/misleading users about why restoring the old site isn't possible.)
2. Why push ahead with a major overhaul if the team working on it aren't experienced enough to ensure that accessibility and features would at the very least be relatively on par with the previous site? To add, how is the site now WCAG compliant yet seeing a greater number of accessibility issues being reported?
3. Some staff have mentioned "other looks" that might be available down the track while also saying the old look will never return. Please explain why there would be time and resources put towards making whole new looks for the site but no effort to recreate the one that users actually want?
4. No one outside of Nexus staff finds your polling to be even remotely adequate and the lack of transparency on your polling only adds to that doubt because Nexus clearly missed getting feedback from the vast majority of users including heavy/powers users of the site. So will Nexus actually commit to a far more transparent and better advertised poll on here, Reddit and other social media channels to get a better picture of user feedback on the issue that the community can also see?

@Demorphic @Happybara @JustThatKing

They will probably monetize the additional looks. Like Discord.

Step 1. Make UI unbearable. ✅

Step 2. Make additional UI styles and monetize them. 🏧

Step 3. Cash in all the money from the flock. 🥳

Not sure. For me it popped up on the Skyrim SE game page, so I pasted in a 2,000 word love letter I'd written beforehand on a notepad. "... It's odd that you guys read the 3 on a 5 star rating as "positive" instead of "neutral". Please understand that this time I have given a "very bad" rating to emphasize that my feedback is negative, but only for this purpose."

If you're curious, the survey basically asked users to rate something and then explain why. I was also asked which of Trending Mods/Popular Collections/More Mods/Media I was using (or interested? I don't remember the exact question), so I checked everything except Collections. And I was asked to report a bug, so I reported the one I remembered, but only remembered the other one after I closed it. I was also given the option to submit my discord username, but they said the survey would remain anonymous. That's all.

Quick search now shows previously unavailable data, like your recent searches and your favourite games, which is useful if you want to swap between games on the fly. We know this comes with a tradeoff. The old quick search menu didn’t have enough space to populate it with more data, making it difficult to improve on what we had without a radical change”

Good lord, you didn't listen to ANYBODY about the quick search.

I just posted a lengthy example using the GOG quick search as an example of how the OLD and MORE EFFICIENT Nexus Quick Search Worked.
IN DETAIL, but nope, you're going to stick with that INEFFICIENT OBFUSCATING POP UP WINDOW that block the entire WEBSITE.

The Old Quick Search had a drop-down, a SCROLLABLE DROP-DOWN, also, if you ended up with too many Results, you could just hit ENTER, and be brought to a screen with a LIST of MODS, with how ever many pages it needed.

But the entire point of Quick Search, is to narrow down your search to a few, or ONE Result.

You people don't get it at all.

That Pop up search window is the antithesis of everything “Convenient” as it prevent everybody from SEEING or USING the webpage it completely BLOCKS.

This is why I didn't bother participating in the BETA, from experience, because the Nexus does this every single time, and gives us the illusion that our Feedback is being considered, and then you go ahead and make the changes everybody complains about anyway, always citing these Invisible “THOUSANDS OF USERS” who Liked The Changes, those Thousand, that NEVER POST.
But for some reason, are ALWAYS the ones who are listened to, even though they never say a word ANYWHERE on the Nexus.

To be clear about the new quick search, you can narrow down your search to a few, or one result. The filtering happens on-the-fly in the quick search modal.

Using your example of Diablo, I can steadily refine the search to return more specific results. I can scope it by game and I can scope it by all content or mods.

I can also scroll through content and if there are too many results, hit enter to be taken to the full search results with a list of mods that can be further refined.

It's a different approach, for sure. It can be quickly and easily accessed using "/" key and quit using "esc" key. Personally I can search much more rapidly with this method.

I can return to previous recent searches. I can refine by tags or other parameters.

This is a different approach to what you previously used and what you have been asking for on multiple occasions, I understand that.

Title will also soon be searchable in the filters on the left side, in the next update. It will also be possible to set your default search category in your settings.

There are over 2000 replies to this topic, the vast majority of them are complaints about the new design. so about 90%, give or take. Yet they claim how its only "some" people who dislike the changes.

man i hate this corporate speech and how they just basically threw a PR statement saying, we dont give a s#*! about your feedback, we are moving forward with our changes anyways, if we feel generous enough, we might bring back game artwork.... wow. this is a spit in the face for all of your users
