I have fast ethernet, a 4070 ti, and a high end cpu and even I am experiencing slow loading times sometimes. I can only imagine what people with much less powerful pcs are experiencing, even people on mobile devices.

As a user with an older computer, this has been a source of concern for me.

I have been monitoring the temperature readouts. Every time I load a page that has been affected by the update (let's say the main page for Fallout 4 for an example), the temperature rises by 2° Fahrenheit. If left idle, it may slowly drop a little in temperature, but if I decide to scroll up or down, this act leads to extra degree gain every few seconds. I just finished scrolling up and down a couple of times on the Fallout 4 hub, and total temperature has risen by 9°.

Note: Closing the Fallout 4 hub while typing this out on the forum has lead to the temperature decreasing by 10°.

I think I see where Nexus got their inspiration from, though even Bethesda offers a toggle to switch to list form.

It also looks identical to videogamemods browsing page and supposedly the search is identical to modsio, which I don't use so I don't know.

"It's the big mods government makin' all the websites look like crap!" - Alex Jones probably.

Free style sheet for use with the Stylus extension, or whatever equivalent you have:

https://github.com/LummoxJR/Nexusmods-style-fixes

It covers mod pages and mod listings. I didn't explore much else with the beta so I'm sure I'll find other things to update when more of it rolls out.

This solved most of the problems i had, thanks a lot.

Now i have 3 rows with 6 results on screen at 1080p hiding the mod description.

What bothers me is no matter you shrink, each page is limited at 20 total results.

Also if mod title can be restricted to 1 row of text no matter how long is it would be perfect.

All of the phone users, however, are very likely also desktop users (primarily). So, it is better to say that of all the desktop users, 40% are also using the phone.  It is not a 60-40 ratio.  It is 100% Nexus users using desktop, of which 40% also use the phone.

I agree using the phone is a lot better now, coming from being absolutely atrocious before this change.  However, comparing the 2, it is pretty clear that the desktop UI forums has taken on an odd/poor space usage to completely accommodate the phone, which, as a result, now looks pretty good (the phone) without the bunched-up clutter it once suffered.  Also, to accommodate phones, a lot of empty space has been added greatly benefiting phone presentation, but at the expense of the desktop UI that now looks like an UI that isn't quite finished and polished.  The 3 column forums where the communications section occupies only 40% of the space on the page with the right and left mostly blank black is a glaring example of this.  Humongous user avatars hanging out in the black column void as if they are lost in space--and they are.

Well, while 40% isn't a majority, it's quite a portion to consider making UI for them, I admit. Still as smartphones are used side-by-side, not exclusively, there's no point to make UI centered all around them and throw out everything else. If they can't come with some universal design, they must create  additional extra UI for mobiles (in WAP times it was common, so ...). Is it a lot of additional work? Yes, but we aren't talking about party of volunteers who are doing this at their free time and for free.  They are hired for it, it's their full-time job and they're paid for it. There's no much room for arguing, excuses or even would-be humorous remarks towards their intended users I think. It's not a game or hobby anymore.

I can understand the motivation to revamp the mod page appearance. However, I have a hard time understanding some "changes" or "features":

CONS

1. The "Trending Mods" section is too large and almost distracting. Have the section at the top, but make it collapsed by default. Or, make the section optional.

2. "Popular Collections" sections makes me think, "Why? Why? Why?" I know both mod users and mod authors have expressed their desire for this element to be removed. At the very least, make it optional (site settings/preferences). Or, make this section collapsed by default.

3. The main page seems to be designed around "mobile" formats, which does not seem to be an intuitive decision. That said, when I am modding a PC game, I am actively using a PC, not a phone.

4. Clicking the buttons under "More Mods", especially "New" and "Updated" should open the next page. Scrolling to the bottom to hit "View More Mods" is less intuitive. (See point 3 regarding having the UI designed for phones.)

The above written: There are elements/changes I do enjoy.

PROS

1. When you get past the main page, and have loaded the secondary page (new mods or updated mods), the page has a better aesthetic and/or feel. The navigation and functionality of the page are more appropriate.

2 From the secondary page, I enjoy the ability to select language support. This helps clean up the mod search page.
