If this thread isn't enough, I am not sure what would be....... Here we are on the forums of the site in question, and the response has been universally negative. In the 33 pages I have been watching this thread, (and participating...) I have YET to see ONE person say they like/prefer the new layout over the old..... Yet staff would have us believe the response has been 'overwhelmingly positive'????? Really???? I find that rather difficult to accept.... given the results I am seeing here......

apparently to them its not. And in their eyes its positive.

And even the logical people that give great solutions and points to help the site are ignored or replied with something totally unrelated.

Lol they literally stopped people from using scripts to get the old site back. That's how petty they are. I'm pretty sure if a new site popped up that was similar to the old UI, people would navigate. Changing the UI is one thing. Being narcissistic, petty, and refusing to listen to the feedback of the majority? For being 'only a team of 30 devs', that can't find a UI toggle "feasible", but can jack up the whole UI against the feedback of the majority of the users, even a 'less established' site is looking better and better.

What's more infuriating is that the “Old Site” still exists, but they're insisting on pushing this new design, come hell or high water.

I note that staff ARE reading this thread...... Though I haven't seen any indication that there is any discussion about 'change of direction' here...... Not encouraging.....

What they will likely do. Is take the number of pages from this forum. Show none of the posts and claim it was a massive turnout. Supporting the new design they pushed. In other words this entire thread of nearly solid complaints. Will become their "selling point". Also hi moderator who has to approve this post. Bet I hit the nail on the head didn't I? Can't wait for it to be rejected now to silence it. XD

As it is, I can't browse the site without getting headaches. Nexus is dead for me until this changes.

The "New" button immediately draws my eye. It is bright, large, and on a dark background and as a result the brightness is emphasized to the point where it was the only thing in the screenshot that I could see while scrolling the page.

I imagine that if I had a migraine I'd have closed the page immediately and stepped away from my computer, but luckily I don't have one at the moment.

#8e8e8e on top of #232326 would look even better, but that's like, just my opinion, man.

The sample you have provided represents only a small portion of what a whole page would appear like, and I am afraid that with the level of darkness it currently encompasses, that the overall experience will still prove to be overwhelming. The text is a good size (personally speaking), but I agree with WndMll's opinion (included below) that the colour hex of #8e8e8e would be a major improvement.

Whilst we cannot use "#8e8e8e on top of #232326" as some of you have suggested, as this does not meet WCAG AAA accessibility standards.

However, we're actively working on adjusting the contrast values to help resolve the issues you're having. We've made a quick edit to part of the game homepage to see if this helps with your issues.
You can open the the full image to make it closer to using the website directly https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/3333/images/12393/12393-1742919067-1216899835.png

Can you please let me know if this helps? If it doesn't, please let me know which parts of the page are you finding problematic.

These tiles are particularly challenging to design for and keep all of the existing meta-data in place. We could explicitly add the labels "Updated" and "Uploaded" in, but that would be yet more text. As for the format being "time since" vs "actual date", there are pros and cons for both. Time since makes it quicker to establish how long ago the update has taken place, but you lose the exact date the longer time has passed.

We'll continue to refine these tiles as we move forward — thanks for the feedback.

How will you refine it so we can see the whole name of the mod and not a shortened version? Everyone knows the style you went for is challenging to handle data, which is why it is SO bad to move to instead of move away from.
