If a major redesign of the site is met by mostly criticism and rejection AND the major redesign is requiring constant community consultation to fix and tweak and update it because everything from basic functionality to accessibility is borked to varying degrees then maybe the major redesign has been poorly thought out and implemented? Maybe it should have been tested for longer, maybe greater effort to advertise the upcoming changes to get more feedback during testing should have happened so that the new site didn't become an ugly, basic square space template looking, screen real estate wasting mess? I get wanting to update things to make managing the site easier on the backend but that shouldn't result in a new look website that wouldn't pass a Web Design 101 class. But the responses from Nexus staff on here and Reddit practically sounding like Karoline Leavitt soundbites show that they don't really care for any critical or objective feedback that doesn't explicitly match what they want to hear.

But, if they ignore it long enough, maybe it'll go away???

I brought this point up 20 pages or so ago. I didn't get a response from staff, I suspect (and would be heavily) you won't either.

I am still advocating for giving users a CHOICE of which version they wanna use, the new 'mobilized' version, or the old one, that look FAR better on PC screens.....

But, as has been the trend in this thread, the staff that DO respond, do NOT say a single word about this possibility. They are only dealing with relatively minor issues with the current version, totally ignoring everything else.

They have answered in other topics.  The answer is no.  They aren't going to manage 2 UI's.  Also, they moved away from the old UI because of unresolvable problems with it that made it impossible to continue with it.  Now what that is, don't know.

They also said that the BETA was closed, but apparently, they are still troubleshooting and taking in some suggestions and fixes.  So we can hope for the best there.  They have conceded to some complaints, but certainly not all.

TBH the fact any company has the ego and balls. To basically flip the bird at the userbase that signs their checks for them. Kinda boggles my mind here. Without users you make 0 money. NONE, Zilch, Not a single damn cent. So at the end of the day what the userbase likes. Should outweigh what the staff likes right? Thats how you sell a product? I dono I never went to business school but some how I highly doubt. There is a seminar on shooting yourself in the foot. Yet its such a common thing to see these days. The ego trip rather than the humility and community. The me instead of we. I am pretty much done talking here. This is pointless and I like countless others. Will be redoubling my efforts to find an alternative. In hopes that the staff get a boot to the head. To jar their cognitive senses.

Also sort by dates not working properly and showing uploading on wrong date.

Capture.PNG

Your arrow is pointing at the last updated timestamp rather than the uploaded timestamp. The original upload date seems correct for your search. That said, relying on unicode icons to indicate what the dates mean is poor design, especially when you cannot interact with the icons to have them provide more information. Amusingly, while you can't interact with the icons, mousing over the dates will pop a little infobox with more information.

Anyway, another minor quibble about UI: When making a report on a mod, mousing over the text "I confirm that, to the best of my knowledge, the information I have provided is correct and follows our Reporting Guidelines." will highlight the checkbox to indicate that clicking will do something, but clicking does not actually toggle the checkbox unless I mouse over the checkbox directly.

Yeah i wasnt sure if this is how it was or not. The old ui had dates with titles showing last uploaded and updated dates. This is confusing as hell. At this point I think they broke the website on purpose so they could actually have work to do, especially with no actual fixes yet or options. The staff will want a big pat on the back after they re-add features they took away from us.

Since this at a point where all devs dont really care about the community needs.

Perhaps its about time the community banded together action through third party means, to force a change to happen.

Hopefully there is an authority or something out there to help on this.

Its time to take action. ( Sadly. )

I agree, there are a few places that have been started up though in fairness. But nexusmods basiclly has a monoploy from being around so long.

Which is why ive pointed out that people who pay monthly premium need to vote with their wallet. Since thats the only real way we can maybe make a difference

This thread makes me really &*^*#£% sad, you have ruined one of my top 3 go-to Internet pages with a pointless *mobile friendly* downgrade. You refuse to address the outpouring of dislike and are pretending like this is a positive change.

Nexus staff, I am so utterly and bitterly disappointed in all of you.
