75% rated it 3-5 stars? Out of how many? 10?

I'm sorry, but, I do believe your data is seriously flawed, given that responses HERE, are pretty much universally NEGATIVE. How do you explain that??

The rating system was 1-5 stars. We have over 10 million active users of the site.

As I said previously, those results really don't jibe with what I am seeing here, on the forums of the site in question.....

And yes, I am aware of the absolutely HUGE volume of traffic that passes thru here every day. I am sure it is NOT an inexpensive endeavor. 🙂

"Picked for the Survey"??? Really? It wasn't an open poll then? How were the participants chosen?

I think it would be rather interesting to run a poll here, in this forum, and see how the results shake out. However, I noticed that any user-posted poll got nuked in pretty short order. Wonder why that is.......

@HeyYou thanks for your ongoing engagement in this discussion. You have said a lot and reading back through your posts, you have expressed frustration with not being heard and asked that the site goes back to the old UI. If possible, could you summarise your top three issues that you would like to see fixed with the new UI?

During this release, we have collected HotJar feedback from multiple survey pulses from thousands of users, with more to come after further improvements.

While there's room to keep improving, 75% of respondents to our last post-launch survey rated the pages 3-5 stars.

Again I will ask, as so many others have, after every alleged hotjar survey…WHAT HOTJAR FEEDBACK AND MULTIPLE SURVEY PULSES?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I have yet to see ONE.

At this point, I feel I have a better chance to see a unicorn, the Loch Ness Monster, and Bigfoot, while buying a Willy Wonka Candy bar at the local Bodega and winning a Golden Ticket.
I've heard tales about these “Wondrous Surveys where millions upon millions flocked to fill them out with positive responses”, while never having seen one in my life.

I wonder why these infamous THOUSANDS of people who always seem to participate in these Betas and Surveys, (who must be pretty active, in order to always know about, and be the ones who participate in these surveys etc), never actually SAY anything, ever. But apparently are the “Chosen Ones” who determine what the site looks like, like some shadowy background group of dark robed figures who constantly go on about “Joining The Dark Side”.

I'm supposed to believe these people, these 'silent users', “wallflowers”, and supposed “introverts”, who never say or post ANYTHING, are the ones who are always there to only participate in SURVEYS, HOTJAR Surveys, and BETAS?

What a mysterious lot, this “Silent Group” of users, who never say anything, but participate in EVERYTHING, are.
Do they have a secret handshake too?

Honestly, this once again reminded of the famous “But the plans were on display…” scene from the Hitchhiker's Guide.

I browse on a desktop computer. Don't push a UI designed with a phone screen in mind.

A choice on the color palette for the site would be a godsend. 🙂 As I understand it, you use variables for most of the color choices?? Is that correct? If so, wouldn't it be a "relatively" simple matter to offer a couple different color schemes?

Too much wasted space on the search results. Although, I see that has changed some.... It actually shows a good number of mods. Thank You for that. The colors still give me a headache though. 😄 Not nearly as bad as it was, but, still some tweaking needed methinks.

I deeply hope that some of the changes made to the site ultimately mean improved scalability and adding functionality (back) won't be so much of a hassle for the Nexus team.

I do want to address that I never had the opportunity to provide any feedback prior to this change. Over the past month, I've been spending far more time working on mods than I do on the site - I had a very brief window to try the Beta, and I did, but had to immediately switch back to the classic site to be able to quickly respond to users, upload files, address bugs, etc.

I never got the chance to go back and fill out any survey and before I knew it, the new design was rolled out site-wide and I had no chance to adjust my workflow beforehand.

I can only imagine that i'm not the only mod author in that position.

Expand

Sorry about the lack of opportunity to adjust your workflow before the changes went live. I appreciate you have other priorities and we did make it quite easy to switch straight back out of the beta.

This update has indeed made it much easier for us to add functionality, and not just bringing old functionality back (like comment search, that was killing performance and will hopefully be returned), but new functionality. There's so much more we want to be doing for you guys, and to be shackled by the tech, which worked for a much smaller site, but was holding us back, was a massive frustration for the team.

I hope that with the updates that will follow and the planned work that will follow we can regain your trust and try to get you onboard with the bigger vision to not only make modding easy for new users, but to continue developing sophisticated tools for power-users like yourself.

There's been 1.8k replies in this thread alone, and that's excluding feedback from multiple Discord servers and Reddit and various other social channels. We need to organise feedback and build a list of priorities for the next period of work.

1.8K IS “Thousands of users” too, difference is, the 1.8K has been giving feedback the Nexus doesn't like.

I'd wager that around 99.8% of this thread's 1.8K responses have all rated the pages, 1 star.
Why don't those 1.8k carry the same weight that these mysterious 3-5 star voters do?

I get it, MORE STARS = MORE WEIGHT, being that 3-5 stars would weigh more than 1 star.

That's all fine until Neil deGrasse Tyson pops in and tells everybody about the Mass of White Dwarf stars

Thanks for this. Our design team has been working with a number of users on contrast options, because while we have a need to be accessibility complaint, we've seen a lot of feedback on contrast. As for offering different color schemes, I cannot commit to that, but it's definitely been heard.

The UI changes, including things like the content spacing, this is something the design team are looking at. We’re exploring additional tile options, including a list view and a more compact view for those who prefer a more compact layout.

Allowing a couple different themes would be a godsend. Not everyone is vision impaired, and color schemes that cater to that, are just not the best for the majority of folks that are not..... Having the choice of one or two 'high contrast' settings, and maybe a couple 'normal'? color schemes would be awesome.

Thank you for engaging with me. I DO appreciate what you guys are trying to do.....

I'm sorry you have not seen one of the mystical Hotjar surveys. You do write very wonderfully though, I'm hoping that writing is part of your day job.

A belt-and-braces solution has been to create these threads to allow users who have not seen a survey to share their feedback. You have posted considerably into the thread and I hope that you've managed to get across your main concerns.

As I mentioned previously, we will be taking this feedback from multiple locations to help guide the next bits of work, and we will be communicating this work over the coming few weeks.
