Why? Because I could just use “Hunt and Peck” with my left hand (And using your example of SKYRIM) could type S, then K, and only games that have SK together would show, then type Y, and only games with SKY would show etc. I would always get the game I was searching for within 3-4 letters, without ever removing my hand from the mouse. These changes have tied a cement block to any efficiency there used to be. and has adde extra clkicks, extra pop-ups and pages, extra scrolling etc The antithesis of Efficient and Convenient. And more along the lines of Bloated, poorly Implemented and Poorly though out.

Expand Can you not use your left hand to first type "/" before "S", then "K"? I can do this and get Skyrim from any page. I think my main concern is that in the scheme of a fairly major release, this is something you cannot and will not adapt to. I don't think there's much else I can do to support you here. Expand You're really not making a case for why it should be this way or even why it was changed to this at all. A lot of the claims are about making things "easier", but overall it's a net-negative on that. 5

A lot of the claims are about making things "easier", but overall it's a net-negative on that. Expand I'll reiterate the case here, which is clearly stated in the news article: Search has been massively expanded to provide a much more comprehensive set of tools to allow users to find content on the site. Allowing you to search across all of the different content offered on the site (Mods, Collections, Images, Videos and Users). Quick search now shows previously unavailable data, like your recent searches and your favourite games, which is useful if you want to swap between games on the fly. We know this comes with a tradeoff. The old quick search menu didn’t have enough space to populate it with more data, making it difficult to improve on what we had without a radical change. We are listening to your feedback and because of it, we will be adjusting elements like background blur and automatic page scrolling behind the quick search menu. These last two items have been implemented now. This is the quick search now, with some improvements to come, but fundamentally, this is how it is. If you want to click on search, then type, or use keyboard shortcuts, both are options. This is how it is now.

Expand Because of all the extra clicking and keyboard usage, you need to rename it, because it can no longer be referred to as a "Quick Search” anymore. It's like whoever looked at the quick search, and thought, “How can I make this take MORE Clicks, More Keyboard Commands, show LESS info, while also blocking the entire website, and making it slower overall.” MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

If the main userbase of the website are mod-users... then Images, Videos, and Users are just bloat. By default, it should focus on the game you are looking at and the mods therein. Then have toggleable options for the other search options, and have that saved as a cookie / part of the user-settings. If someone wants the others, then having it save their choice would be the best idea. Cookies and user-settings exist, and it is best to make use of them. Expand As I've mentioned several times, you can set your default search category in your site preferences. If you want to default to only mods, set it as mods. In addition, you might be searching only for mods, but there's a huge image / screen archery community on Nexus Mods with millions of images and tens of millions of daily searches. You might not use collections, but it's a huge driver of total downloads.

One more thing on the search, at least when it comes to something I can't fix using a custom CSS, what about the "Trending" option? That was always a significantly better sorting option than the others. Endorsements favors what is the oldest, so it really isn't a good method to sort mods.
