As for the new site, I didn't revert back to the old site.

The new one is :

- far more responsible than the old one

- adds some nice features

- looks is cleaner

Good job.

What nice features are added? There are features missing like image.png.1fc77db643feb5d6e895906f6fc21797.png "Update available" etc (I mean the blue things on the picture...)

At the most the new look is boring and nothing else.

i found new nitpick to bother you about

MEDIA TAB

under my image

when i go to manage i have only 1 option

Add 2nd option - Hide image / make public to make it more intuitive?

Basically why i can't just EDIT after clicking manage?? if thats the only option??????

either add more option or let people edit from manage

kind of bad.png

Some feedback:

Feature request: Option to remove the "Trending Mods" section
When browsing a game i have already downloaded mods for the most important thing for me are the new mods. I have most likely already downloaded all trending mods, so displaying them for me is pointless. This is especially bad when i am browsing through multiple games and want to see if there are new mods. On my 27" 4K (150% scaling) monitor i have to scoll down to see the list of most recent mods.
Simularly, when browsing a new game for which a want to download mods for, i will browse the entire catalog of available mods and not just to 6 most trending mods.

Styling changes - reduce margins and paddings and line-height
While the design is more modern it does have an insane amount of spacing everywhere. I'd rather have a way more condesed view to get a better and faster overview of the available mods than having to scroll everything constantly. As mentioned above i have a 27" screen.

Implement max-width for the forum
It's nice that the forum imploys a responsive design, however there does not seem to be an upper limit how wide a text-element (like this texteditor i am currently writing in) can get. UX studies show that the optimal line width should be between 50-75 characters. Reading my own text on my 27" monitor i have to tilt my head in order to continue reading the sentence in the next line. Implementing a max-wdith of 55em should be enough. While this may not look particularly visually appealing (when there is so much empty space it really improves readability of longer texts. (see attached screenshots)

Light mode
While there are obvious benefits from having a dark mode there should also be a light mode available. It's proven that our eyes strain when looking at a bright screen during the evening/night. While i am not an eye doctor it doesn't sound too far fetched for me that the same logic may also apply to dark screens during the day.

Still testing this Beta and I also found out that at last page, Download Sizes are disabled and instead new UI shows how many files and folders are included in the mod itself. This is very very absurd because nobody cares if a mod has 10 files or 1,000 files on it but they will very much care if the mod take 10kb of space or it needs 100mb of space to function properly. Please revert this back to its original form to keep the necessary information instead of showing totally trivial information about how many files.

While I agree that mod size is more important than the number of files, I'd like to point out that mod size never worked correctly, so also not in the classic version. All it shows is the size of the last file uploaded to the mod, which does not necessarily have anything to do with the total size of the mod. Example: you have a large mod taking up 3GB but you upload a patch to it as a separate file that is only 100K. Mod size shown is 100K which is completely irrelevant.

Bottom line: it would be nice to have the actual correct mod size displayed, although I appreciate that it may not be easy to figure out, especially when a mod has many files.

I'm not a fan of the changes, mostly because they perform horribly at the moment. I get major stuttering/lag on Firefox while scrolling the home/search pages in the Beta layout when the current layout functions smoothly. Design wise, the inclusion of the game title on the home page is just clutter, everyone knows to just look at the top bar if for some insane reason they forget what page they're on. Same with changing the design of the tabs for New/Updated mods, keep them consistent with the ones shown on the actual mod pages.

A lot of these changes smack of someone just needing something to do. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Seems it only uses the main files.

I have a mod that has 45 files: 2 main files, one is 124.7MB, the other is 573.2MB. 43 optional files that are between 416KB-283.9MB in size. The most recent file I uploaded was an optional file that is 1.9MB. On my profile it says the mod size is 124.7MB.

For my mod, showing how many files would be better than showing size because downloading the largest file is not necessary to use my mod.
