shadowstart220
oki, so I recently got MGE and ran its program for making the texturs, and the statics, and the greass even and what not, and about the only thing I'v gotten out of it is the higher resolution of 1440x900*my labtops max*. but thats all. there were no crashes during installation or rather the comvertion of said meshes and texturs. So I'd like to know were I made my mistake.I read the trouble shooting area of the read-me several times and did everything*at least I hope it did* that it said could make the transformation not work correctly. So now im stuck with a higher resoution and no distant land or enhanced graphics. Can anyone tell me if theres a fix i should get as i'v see a few via nexus? morrowbliv didnt impres me much so id like to make this work. :thanks:
AncientSpaceAeon
morrowbliv didnt impres me much so id like to make this work.Well morrowblivion was also illegal, don't use it as an alternative. (Or you already use it ?)
Tchos
Did you notice any error message in the upper left of the screen?
shadowstart220
Did you notice any error message in the upper left of the screen? No, no error messages were on the screen just the "morrowind graphics extender" and its version number. So I cant see why it will not work. Um *damned if I or not* yes I managed to find a copy of morrowblivion and impliment it, I hope im not going to get in trouble to at least seeing what it did*all be it not much if anything :/* So ya while telling the truth will likely get me in trouble, I can at least say i did tell the truth and say that I will be wiping it off my hard drive. *please dont tell me im in trouble
shadowstart220
umm, why do I get the feeling that no one like the fact that I'v used morrowbliv for a day?
nosisab
umm, why do I get the feeling that no one like the fact that I'v used morrowbliv for a day?I may be wrong since I don't know morroblivion, it's not about files from morrowind running under the oblivion engine? if so, makes no sense using MGE there. MGE is about using DX9 resources (Morrowind is stuck at using DX8 that was what existed at it's development and release date), it is meant to be used with Morrowind engine only. MGE makes a huge difference in Morrowind, and uses resources at highs too, it'll becomes even more demanding than Oblivion itself depending on certain setups. Even with it's more modest configuration the changes are huge. If it installed correctly you could not help but note it. BUT, it will enhance the original graphics, will make use of advanced shader, lighting and so on, the purpose is not looking like Oblivion. shadowstart220
well, ofcourse i wouldnt use it under the oblivion engine :P my origianl question was about why the mod will not seem to work, as it seems i have eveything in order. I can't see why it will not work correctly. As I replyd to another memebers question I had not resevied any error messages. As far a I know im running under DX10 via vista. the game runs smoothy so i cant understand why the mod doesnt work. Also as far as I know i have the verion of morrowind *tribunal with bloodmoon* to were its supposed to be. Also as stated before iv run the program several times with no crashes, and have read thro the read me several times. everything is in order..but no change. why? thanks :)

Again I can't give certainties because I don't use Vista/seven Windows, but DirectX DLLs meant for XP may be sensitive (Vista users can confirm negate that mine statement for what I'd be grateful). What seems to me is the DLLs are being ignored at all, a quick search led me to this Windows Vista fix for MGE. I don't know that file, it wasn't posted by the author, but from the description it is meant to 'allow' MGE to run under Vista. You may give it a try. PS: Most causes of issues and complaints involving Vista users fall into that aggressive and somewhat nonsensical security measures the OS poses, it's something to look for, too. A most favorabl reply my firend. I will admit that I to would like to know what other vista users have to say about MGEs operation on that system. I will also admit that I have seen the Vista fix before but was a bit hesitant to try it out. If however it does work I will post here with my results. thanks again :)
Tchos
I have nothing to report regarding MGE on either of my computers, both of which use Vista. MGE worked as soon as I installed it, and I never needed this fix. The only time MGE ever stopped working was when I installed an improved water shader for it which neglected to add the water normal maps, and when that happened there was an error message in the upper left explaining its inability to find the normal maps.
