The open hatch on the right side is for the tank commander, with an external mounted M60D machine gun. On the opposite side is the loader's hatch with two places to mount another M60D machine gun. This configuration originated with the Israeli Army for use in urban situations and than adopted by the US.By the by, I win.LOL!
