To tell you the truth, it sucks. That was always going on in the Summer between my two older brothers after school let out after breakfast, and lunch and dinner they would start all over, until Dad won it. I remember when it was just my Dad and I. He could actually pick me up as I sat on his foot and I clung to his calf with my arms and wrapped my legs around his ankle. He had to drag the leg I was attached to as though he was lamed by my 30 or 40 pound body. I was simply trying to slow him down so I could win the race to the table and sit in the chair at the head of the table next to Mom. Sitting on the bench with Dad at the head of the table on my right, and I sitting across from Mom while Dad and I growled at each other. I would look up. See what Dad was doing after he was done complimenting her on part of the fine dinner she made. As soon as he stuffed a fork full of food into his mouth I would compliment her on the fine green peas she cooked us. I'd watched her smile grow and they dive the fork into the mashed potato's with white gravy.When I returned to eating, he again would compliment her on another part of the food on his plate for her cooking. I was chewing my food and saying grr when he was talking and he was chewing his food and saying Grr when I was. Mom would look sternly at us, as we ate, "Chew your food! Don't talk with your mouth full!" Than she would break up our grr-ing with an excellent desert. I ate mine and went to my lonely room to gather up my manly toys and prepare to win the day until I had to go to bed.
