Oh god, I've got an old Uljanik Bantam welding transformer in my garage, 140 A. That think weights 40kg and it's half of a computer case in size. It also burned out my fuses when I turned it on. You can also make a short circuit and go drink your coffee, it won't do any damage to the transformer, though the metal you're welding might melt.

I'm supposed to fix it but a rotary switch with 8 positions that can withstand 140 A is a bit hard to find here.

This thing can burn through your soul with all that power :psyduck:

Jaguar E-type, one the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. Too bad I'll never have one, or drive one.

Actually, that sounds quite useful. :devil:

I know because I tried that, 120mm diameter steel pipe with 8mm thick sides will melt after a few minutes of being hooked up on this thing. That pipe was a frame from a crashed Jawa motorbike.

Then I used it on my neighbour's fence, melted it in 2 minutes. And after that I tried it on a manhole lid, it melted in two weirdly shaped pieces. Microwave melted immediately.

This thing can exceed it's 140 A maximum, it can go up to 300 A without overheating the transformer. The welding transformer is designed for use in Uljanik shipyard so it's made to endure a lot of abuse.

This time I might try it on my neighbour's new car and see will it melt :devil:

@Pagafyr I'm not that lucky :(

LOL! Take pictures!

@Pagafyr I'm not that lucky :(

Especially not considering those cars aren't even made anymore.

Even if you'd want to buy one you'd have to spend around € 50.000 for a good E-Type. And expect shifting gears to be a nightmare. Err actually, just don't buy it at all. It's a nice car, but it's not worth the money.

Besides: Old British car? No thanks. You'd spent more time fixing the darn thing then actually driving it. :tongue:

My granddad worked at Jag. (What remains of) The UK factory is just up the road. Doubt you'd see an E-type there these days though.

Also, my dad worked on the Triumph motorbikes, including the classic Bonneville.

And I make....... Mods.
