I heard something interesting today... A proposal in Walmart.
Classy.

"Attention! Kelly, will you marry Mr. Thomas?"

That's probably a little wrong, but that's basically what happened, I walk in go towards the outdoors section (camping and fishing and stuff, not like an outdoors part of Walmart) and then that came over the speakers.

I just finished my statement letter.

Sending it tomorrow to 5 Unis, wish me luck guys!

Good luck! :D

I heard a argument in my head the other day, it was the the strangest thing, two people eating pie by the tree that was also in a heated debate with 2 apples arguing about the leaves trying to take over the apples territory, something like that. I yelled over there you're crazy, and they actually agreed with me  . I couldn't grasp what the the two crazy looking pie eating people were saying though, didn't make sense.

I just put down the latest Tomb Raider game. Suffice it to say it was a very disappointing lesson on what happens when a good idea is badly realised. Tomb Raider is not a bad game: aspects of it are truly brilliant, especially the core premise and the lead character. The problem is the game they've been thrust into: for all the wonderful story and artistic ideas the game itself is a major disappointment and completely lets down the story it's trying to tell. The main issue is a ridiculous over-reliance on quick-time events. Most of the gameplay is some sort of quick-time event: QTEs to fight, climb, even swim. It gets extremely tedious very quickly, and is made even worse by extremely narrow windows of opportunity, minuscule prompts, and the fact the game randomly switches between showing keyboard, PS3 and Xbox 360 prompts on the PC version of the game.

Normally I wouldn't bother criticizing a game on an internet forum-my opinions worth about as much as the particles that arranged to form the text you're reading, but Tomb Raider is such a let-down that I feel compelled to comment. For me it's the biggest disappointment of 2013: a game with the potential to become a legend in it's own time, held back by typical Square Enix lazy game design and QTE obsession. As a (hobbyist) writer this sort of thing is also my biggest fear: that you could make the best story in the world, and then have your publisher re-write it into something awful. And I really believe that we only saw the beginning of this game's story-had it been packaged better this could have taken game of the year. Alas.
