Trigonous
I figure this is the best forum to put this in. I'm just requesting that someone with a little more knowledge than me create a plugin for Firefox that allows you to search TESNexus (and another one for FO3Nexus  ), because I'm lazy and don't always want to have to actually open up the site's page before searching
LHammonds
Just one big problem with that. Assuming it would be a google shortcut that only looks at each respective Nexus site, a text-based search engine will look at ALL content on the page and will only search based on the text you type in. The Nexus sites provide multiple ways to search based on what you are looking for and it would be VERY difficult to replicate. Just typing in text in the quick search bar will find uploads that have your text in the title. The Advanced search page allows you to look in the title, description, uploader name, author name, category, size, date range, etc. The Tag Search utility allows you to find mods that match a very specific set of attributes. Maybe the best thing you should do is use the FireFox web browser and open multiple tabs and have one tab set to the TES advanced search page and another set to the FO3 advanced search page and then save them as your "Home" pages so they automatically open with your web browser. Trigonous
Yes, I'm basically looking to replicate the basic search function. I know the advanced search is out of the question, but I hardly use that anyway. The problems I can forsee is that on the search.php page, the URL in no way describes the search just entered (for instance, if you do a search, login and get redirected back, you get a blank search form). Some sites include the search terms in the URL of the search form and so make it easier to create a plugin for Firefox.
showler
I managed to create a very simple Search Plugin for firefox: http://www.4shared.com/document/Sp6T3sbQ/tesnexus1.html It only searches TESNexus, and does a very simple search of "All Oblivion Files" with default options, but could likely be customized for other purposes. It's useful for when someone mentions a mod on another site, and you can "highlight text, right-click and search in new tab".
Trigonous
Actually, since then I've found this addon that enables you to add any search to firefox automatically, even if the site doesn't have the supporting code in the page.
showler
That link doesn't seem to point to anything.
Trigonous
D'oh, I linked the search for it. It should work now.
showler
Yeah, that works perfectly. Two days of work for my diseased brain boiled down to three seconds of clicking.
