The wind moving the tree's branches as the wind gusts bend them.  (The fear of a tree falling gives me more fright than all the scary video game movies and music when the winds get so fast.)

I normally hate (hate hate hate hate) fast edits in a film, but I admire that director's use of it in this case because each shot, even though incredibly short, told a story far beyond its image. It was poetry. I haven't seen that video since it first came out, but I admit I didn't appreciate it at the time for what it was. Art.

As for what I've been listening to, I've been working on the below song for the last day or two, tweaking the lyrics dramatically trying to find a balance between poetry and song lyrics. I think I'll leave it in this state and login into Skyrim SE now to see if I can make a film out of it.

Yes, its really art. I remember  i was deeply impressed by the video as a Teen/Twen (?) at the time the video was released in MTV.

Because i felt the same about the "good" people in the suburbs.

I remember seeing Depeche Mode in concert at a large venue (Pine Knob) back in 1987, maybe 1988. It was the first band I went to see not in an indoor stage. I was incredibly impressed with the showmanship of the lead singer. He kept dancing and spinning in circles with the microphone stand swinging like a large wand.

The opening band for the concert was Echo and the Bunnymen whom I loved so much until then for their song Bring On the Dancing Horses (which played every Saturday at an alternative/punk nightclub called City Club in Detroit with DJ Tom). Sadly Echo and the Bunnymen were terrible live. They were so boring. Still, I do love their main song and am grateful to all the times they let me escape in my head while I danced to their song at City Club. I still listen to that song at least a few times a year for the last 35+ years.

I found it yesterday typing "nu metal cringe" in the searchbar of youtube. I suffered through a few entries and picked the best ones 😄. You´re welcome.

I envy you for seeing depeche mode live. They still do tours, so maybe I make it some time 🙂
I did not know Echo and the Bunnyman - thanks for introducing me to them 🙂 The song is great!

I like the song, its very playful. I guess a good live band needs a front woman/-man, who was born for the stage and lives for the interaction with the fans.

Like Arch Enemy 's Alissa in Wacken 2022:
