Can it be done solo?

Ignoring the obvious issues with being the sole member of the party and trying to kill anything... Without using cheats or mods, can the player effectively drive off or kill every party member before sacrificing themselves and leaving nobody to pick up the pieces.

For everyone other than the human noble path, the dog can be killed right away.

You can choose to leave Sten to rot in his cage, or tell him to go away.

You can refuse Leliana, or tell her to go away.

You can kill Wynne, or become a bloodmage.

You can kill Zevran, or tell him to go away.

You can kill Loghain (about the only good option).

You can elect to not buy the stone prisoner DLC or do the quest.

You can tell Morrigan to leave.

Can you refuse/kill Oghren?

Finally, Alistair. Supposedly, if a party member has a low enough loyalty, they'll leave... Is Alistair an exception to the rule? There seems to be several places where acting like a bloodthirsty maniac leaves him with a low loyalty, but I havn't yet managed to send him over the edge (havn't done redcliff and dwarven stuff yet).

Or is there some point where the game will no longer allow you to refuse/kill a potential party member so that you can complete some of those things that can't be done with 2 characters?

Unfortunately, I screwed this up for my current game by going with a human noble so am stuck with the dog. But would like to know if I'm heading into a situation which cannot be recovered by dismissing/killing/offending all the party members.

Being a bloodmage makes no difference to Wynne, the only way is to kill her at the start of the circle quest or do some naughty things like spoil the sacred ashes or take up the Tevinter slaver's offer in the Alienage. I've got Alistair at -80 in one game I believe the only chance for you to get rid of him is at the landsmeet. But you'll need party members in certain parts of the game like the puzzle bridge in the gauntlet part of the urn quest.

There are a couple of ways to get rid of Alistair: if you take Loghain as a party member, Alistair will refuse to accompany you any further. And before that, if you "defile" the Sacred Ashes so that you can become a Reaver, Wynne, Leliana and Alistair will attack you immediately.

Wynne WILL leave you for being a bloodmage if she sees you use your power before you see her use hers.

This is probably the 10th time I've seen someone directly contradict what is written in the games official guide, I'm starting to wonder if the guy who wrote it even played the final release of the game.

The error in the official guide is known about. You can only lose Alistair at the landsmeet, sparing Loghain and getting him to join your party will cause Alistair to leave, choosing Anora as solo ruler doesn't make any difference, all she does is get him to renounce all claims to the throne which is he quite happy to do. This is what I did with my city elf girl because she wanted to keep him for herself ;)

Wynne - You have two chances to be rid of her in the tower, at the start or later if you side with Cullen just before you face Uldred. A third way is to have her in your party when you defile the sacred ashes, I believe the tevinter slaver offer will just get a -40 approval from her.

yeah, unfortunately for what you are trying to accomplish, Al is too tied into the plot for you to be able to get rid of him before landsmeet.

And while I havent played out all the possibilities for some of the course of actions yet...I dont think you could complete the game with only a two member party. You HAVE to have a 4 man party, in order to get to Andraste's ashes. It REQUIRES 4 characters to get to them, due to a puzzle that is involved, where you need 3 toons to work the puzzle, and one to move across the screen.

Keep in mind tho that with this course of action, you're denying yourself some sidequests that can help you level up. By not having those characters there, to give the quests to you. As well as some of the other content in the game. For instance, some of the party banters are really, really good.

One particular situation comes to mind. The area where you have to rescue queen anora. You are left with two options. Fight your way out or be captured. I've done both, but have yet to try to free MYSELF from the prison. Fighting your way out is Very Hard. Even with the use of good tactics, taking out Ser Cauthrien is ROUGH. Especially if you have no magic to assist you that can help to lock her down.

The only other option is for other members of yoru group to rescue you. If you have Al with you when youre captured...well....he's sitting there in the cell With you. Dog would get away, but he can't speak, so I dont know if he'd be able to activate teh dialogs. Interesting. May have to go back and try that, LOL.

Edit- Mentioned those sidequests. If you get rid of Morrigan you'd be denying yourself the chance to take on Flemmeth. I think she's rated as the 2nd or 3rd hardest boss in the game. Its definitely a fun fight, that is worth a lot of xp.
