Ouch, but be warned

truely evil adds

Invoke their friends when you click on them.

Even clicking to close.

This is part of basic Internet Hygiene

If you know tis bad, don't TOUCH IT.

Only thing that i have is the Evony ads.

Nexus can't maintain itself without the revenues from ad companies.

Yep. DUH. No just like they said though. If an AD scares people AWAY from their site. it's actually LOSING them money. So they want to remove those.

Just be happy you only have silly ads and not really loud talking ADs of DOOM. I found another but sadly did not save the image properly. I will continue my hunt!

you guys really, if you have Firefox, you should get AdBlock Plus for it and filter these annoying stinkers out...atleast they aren't as bad as the buzzing mosquito ad...that by far is the worst ad ever created. It feels so good going to a website and not having some ad yelling at me to buy some dish liquid or "lower your rates!!!!!!"

I have to agree. I've been using Adblock for a pretty long time now, and before reading this topic, I didn't even know the download pages HAD ads!?

The ads are there to help pay for the site. If everyone blocked the Nexus ads, I don't think there are enough Premium users to keep the site up-and-running for non-premium accounts.

Even though I have recommended using the Adblock plugin for most sites due to security reasons, I certainly don't recommend it for the Nexus site for the reason stated above.

That's part of why I eventually ponied up some cash for nexus. Even with Privoxy (and adblockplus, on SeaMonkey) disabled, my hosts file blocks most ad servers.

Irritating noisy ads are also a big part of why I block ads in the first place.

So are the Nexus site paid by views or clickthroughs? I always assumed it was by clicks, but I haven't seen anything on FO3Nexus that looks like a Nexus user would click.

Anyway, I found some yesterday. I Adblocked them, but then I thought it be better to report them. Anyway, I hunted one down and used Adblocker to catch a direct url to it:

http://cdn.spotxchange.com/media/videos/fl...20100210-01.swf

Worst part is that they have no mute button. Whoever makes ads that automatically play sound and are immutable need to be decked in the face.

Tried to find it again after snagging the url after I unblocked it and accidently closing the tab after confirming it was correct, but haven't seen it again so I can't give a picture. Hope it's enough :)
