A Fix for All Things Creation Kit

I've modded both Oblivion, and Skyrim, though it was nothing too big and I hardly released anything for Oblivion.

 

There was a mod in Oblivion called the Construction Set Extender. (For those of you that don't know, the Construction Set was Oblivion's equivalent of the Creation Kit. This mod extended the features of the Construction Set, as well as fixing various bugs.

 

I realize that it would take a huge amount of work, as well as someone with a lot of programming knowledge (I assume) because it's work to edit the actual editing tool. However, it would be a godsend to all the modders, everywhere.

 

Post in the comments below if you agree, so maybe somebody can take up this project.

I think the most annoying thing about requests is when they say "Please fix this!" and then provide absolutely no details about what exactly the problem is. What do you need fixed in the creation kit? What new features would be a "godsend" for you? What new features do you imagine would be a "godsend" for me or other modders like me, for whom you have taken it upon yourself to speak? Do you have any sense at all of the feasibility of those proposed new features, or are you just spitballing?

 

Yeah, I agree that some unspecified improvements to the creation kit would probably be useful to somebody somewhere. Improvements are useful almost by definition.

Can't find the page right now, but there is a thread detailing some of the main bugs in the CK, like the navmesh bug (when navmeshing custom cells, Npcs will often be unable to move after you've moved more than two cells away), and some other bugs/incompletions like buttons that can't be used, fields that can't be entered, etc. sorry I can't be more specific right now since I can't seem to find the page.

 

I don't think it's very likely that a project like this would be taken up for some time. I posted this since it's an issue that is often forgotten, or ignored, since there are a lot of workarounds. Another possibility is that only Bethesda has the ability to patch the CK.

 

So I suppose it was kind of spitballing. Sorry for that.

By a godsend to modders everywhere, I was saying that there have been many threads detailing issues because of the aforementioned bugs (and some more like the SEQ file necessity, and how the CK will occasionally break your new quests for no known reason) and a mass fix for things like that would likely benefit them.
