Dullahan
Are there any new general movements? I recall seeing a screenshot in a Gamefaqs forum, and it showed some woman doing a backflip or it could have been a side flip? But i dunno.. Because in Morrowind, the movements sucked. I mean, stealth wasn't stealthy, you can hear yourself clunk, even whilst barefoot, and creeping sucked, because it made my character look like a fool. I mean, i hate to say it, but i don't really creep that much, because it looks like my character is constipated.. so yeah.. I was reading the Oblivion guide, and it said something about 'rolling' in stealth mode? I would also like to know if there is more elasticity to the characters movements? Are they more fluid, or are they the same as Morrowind?
Switch
As far as I can tell they're improved, to an extent. Walking and running definitely looks more natural. But as far as I know there aren't any flips, or rolls, or anything like that. Sneaking definitely doesn't make you look like you have a stick up your bum anymore. :P There's animation for mounting horses and such. And of course, the great innovation of sitting down whenever chairs or benches are around, which is nice. Oh, and they haven't fixed the walking down a slope animation issue. You still look like you're walking on flat ground when heading down a slope, much to the annoyance of some people. Personally I can ignore it, but it's there. Adras
Personally it doesnt bother me. I rarely ever switch to 3rd person view, so I dont care about that. The only time I ever notice it is when I am on my horse and is slopes downward on a hill. Even then though, my character leans back to keep straight up. Firebeard
Eh, looks better to me. I haven't even really noticed the flat walking on slopes, even with horses, since I've spent a total of about 15 minutes on horseback (Barbarians run). However, there is rolling, if you have Acrobatics at 50, I believe. Kinda weak end to the animation, but generally, it's cool.
SoulBlazer_87
Movement is mostly unchanged but now e.g. the horse will lean down a slope, provided you walk and not run. Also rolling does exist if you get Acrobatics 50 but its kinda pathetic.. plus its hard to use in a tight situation (move then press simultaneously block+jump, default RMB+E)
loveme4whoiam
I'm hoping that if/when there is the ability to add new animations, someone will do a Better Acrobatics mod, adding in all kinds of flips, spins, and other crazy gymnastic stuff. I was standing on the pointed roof of someones house in Bruma today (as you do) when I thought, "Wouldn't it be cool if I could sumosault off this roof?" That'd look sweet." Then I did jump off, and it looked like I was desperately trying to relieve my constipation in midair, and above a guard too. I've always disliked it in games when you have no physical presence in the game world (HL2 anyone - oh wow I can pick up stuff - with no hands....). There was one game years ago, similar to Turok but on the PC, where the player had a body. Not many people noticed though, since as soon as the player looked down they discovered that they were, in fact, a woman. Oh how the developers must have laughed when they came up with that one. Anyway, very few games do it properly, but it adds alot to the game. Including decent animations.
