Sanyo
So as the title says, I'm interested in modding, and as such I've decided to try and make myself known to a modding community. I hope to one day become a part of the gaming industry, and I would like not only to become a skilled modder, but hopefully have something to show when I finally start searching for a job in said industry. I've been to this site before, but only for the purpose of searching through any interesting mods for Oblivion and Fallout 3, both of which I want to try modding on first. I figured it would be good to get to know the members here, and in turn develop my skills. I don't have much experience, but I've toyed with the Editors for both Oblivion and Fallout 3, and while it is overwhelming now, I hope to master it in time. So, in conclusion, I plan to get to know the members here, and I would like to become a respected member of these forums. Thanks for letting me be a part of the community. Keanumoreira
Greetings, and welcome to the Nexus forumns, and the website of course! I'm not a modder myself, but I know some good ones. Don't worry, its very easy to get noticed here, either good or bad, but thats your choice. I've been here for a mere six monthes and already I'm well known, mostly through my debate topics you can find in the debate section. But I digress, welcome and enjoy! Trandoshan
The church of Dark0ne recognizes you as it's newest member. Oh, and good luck on your path to modding heaven. Seriously, bring some mods into the place. BTW, Kean... You were easily noticed because you did something most new people don't do. You started making a TON of new threads. That's a good start!
Povuholo
Welcome! Is there any specific part of modding you're interested in? Interior/Exterior Level design? Scripting? Quests/dialogue? The Construction Set can be overwhelming at first, yeah. But it gets better as you get used to it. Also the CS Wiki is a very good source of information for anything related to the Oblivion CS, I use it all the time when I need to know something. For FO3's GECK there's the similar GECK Wiki. Good luck!
Sanyo
Thank you for the replies, and for the Wiki links. Both look very helpful. As for what I want to do... I'm not too sure. I would like to eventually make quests; start small and then hopefully end up with some epic ones, but for now, I'd rather just build houses or something. By the way, what programs are used for custom models, like weapons and things people put into the game?
